Discuss: Easy Eyelash Fix?!

Kiss is a beauty product company whose products can be found in stores in America and Europe.

So what is there to discuss? Well they have recently released their ‘Ever Easy Lashes with String‘ in the UK (they’ve been out in the US since February)wait, false lashes with strings?!

The strings act as an applicator, making it easier to get them in the right position. Once you have applied the lashes and they’re stuck in place you can simply pull out the string – remember to hold onto the lashes though.
It seems like a good idea for those who find false lash application difficult, or for beginners who might find it awkward. Even though I’m used to applying lashes and don’t find it difficult, I still really want to try these out. It looks so simple and quick! What do you think?

Review: Dollywink Volume Mascara

This post is sponsored by Artie Beauty Cosmetics
Recently, Artie were kind enough to sponsor me with the Dollywink Volume Mascara

It came really quickly and was perfectly packaged. I also appreciated the business card, which I always think is a nice touch
I love the packaging of the Dollywink products, they never fail to impress in my opinion – the mascara comes in a plastic case which stands up so you can proudly display it in your collection
So what about the mascara?
 without
with
It’s a little clumpy without a eyelash comb to help separate the lashes but it does definitely make them look thicker (it supposedly separates your lashes and makes them thicker). I was hoping for a different effect on my top lashes to be honest, as I can’t always use a comb on them and clumpy lashes are a big no-no for me. Even so it worked nicely on my lower ones.
It blends a lot better with make-up…
Looks much better once the lashes have been tidied up, no?

Well it boosts that it’s long-lasting and waterproof, both of which are attributes that I can say are true. I never had any trouble with it fading during the day, and I even managed to have a shower without it removing. That said, it does remove easily with make-up remover or wipes so don’t worry.

The mascara wand is nothing extraordinary but I did like that it had an ultra fine tip on the brush so that you can use it on your lower lashes and the outer corners – good thinking!

Check out my room!

Thank you to all of those who entered the poll – and for those of you who didn’t, well you still can!

As some of you who follow my twitter may know I was given a very small baggage allowance by my university when travelling to Paris – ONLY 14KG!! I swear my suitcase weighs about 4kg by itself…so I had to pack lightly!
Then when I got to Paris I was placed in a rather awkward accommodation situation…But you have to make the best of things, right?
So anyway, how about taking a peek at my room & some of the stuff I took?!

For those of you who remember my original post, you’ll notice that my ‘everyday’ collection (I alternate items, I don’t wear them all at once haha) has expanded.
I have more palettes, lipsticks/glosses etc. that I keep in another case (& my handbag) but these are my usual go-to items!!
I still don’t use foundation because I want to take care of my skin, but lately I have been thinking of going back to it (after 3 years – shock, horror!).

You’ll also notice that I was such a big fan of some of the items that I have continued to buy and use them. That means I really do love them, as I am constantly buying new products and chucking out old ones!

GETS!!

It’s time for my favourite kind of post…GETS POST!!
Why is it my favourite?! Because its an excuse for me to buy pretty things and then blog about them haha

I bought some lashes from D-Tan; Koakuma Diamond Lash & #11 Daiso lashesI will add pictures of both worn soon!
The DL are to be worn as accents or with another set. The Daiso ones may be cheap at only 100yen (around 80p) but they’re some of the best I own – crazy!! I already have a pair which I bought whilst I was in Tokyo, so these are a back-up. That’s how much I love them.
I also bought this top from Sami – the print always makes me giggle – detail pic.
She was also super sweet and included a phone charm (which I put on straight away) she had bought for me as she knows I love Marie~

Some MODE-ish jewellery gets from H&M.
I also think they’ll work well with the current ‘Blogger’ trend that’s caught my eye lately.

Ditto this blouse~
I really wanted a similar one from Egoist, but even with every Japanese brand bringing out their own version I wasn’t lucky enough to grab one. They do have one at Yumentenbo, but I saw this at H&M and grabbed it.
I love the lace back and the light material – perfect for warmer weather – Detail pic.

Heart print tights & pleated ‘Carey’ skirt both from Primark.

Two simple pieces that look super cute together – everyone keeps complimenting me and asking about the tights. I tried to grab another couple of pairs recently but didn’t have any luck, guess I’ll have to take extra care of these.

Bag from Primark.

The scarf I have attached is VERY SPECIAL.
It’s a one-off design by my boyfriend’s sister!! She is currently studying textile design in Chelsea and entered this into a scarf design competition. She won and the prize was to have her scarf created and sold in the Oxford Street Topshop store in London – so keep an eye out my London Gals!
Not only that but you can buy it online – here

I found myself looking in MAC for a nude lipstick recently. After consulting one of their make-up artists about the colour that would suit me best I ended up with the new Lady Gaga shade, and a lip pencil from the new Quite Cute range. Which according to their shop staff is “like based on Japan, coz of anime and harajuku and stuff like that” – I will forgive him though as he was super sweet complimenting my accessories haha.

Viva Glam Gaga– all proceeds go towards helping those affected by HIV & Aids.

In-Synch lip pencil – from the new Quite Cute range.
…and a swatch of the two.

Review: Korean Bulk False Eyelashes

This post is sponsored by KKcenterhk
KKcenterhk are my current eyelash sponsor. They stock a variety of lashes and the ones I have been given are 2 packs of the 10 pair multipacks from the Korean company ‘ES’. I’m sure you have seen these online before, and I know some of you have even bought some yourselves.
I choose a pair of fuller top lashes and a pair of lower lashes.
I only applied a little bit of eyeliner/minimal make-up in the following pictures as I wanted to blend the lashes but show them off, without make-up.

I am sorry for the quality of the photos and the re-use of the banner. These pictures were taken in my last few days in Japan when I was very rushed and stressed. However excuses will not be tolerated, so I shall definitely bring you better ones next time ;D
ES A101 – here
These lashes weren’t as harsh as previous fuller ones I had tried. Of course they’re not a lash to be worn with minimal make-up, but I feel that you can get a better look at the actual lashes this way.
I plan on wearing them again with a more dramatic eye, probably to compliment a rock-style coordinate – a style which I am growing fond of again. The macro on my camera failed to catch a sharpened image of them but I like them all the same.
ES A023 – here
These were the first pair of lower lashes I had tried from ES. The lashes themselves are very soft and sweet looking, however the lash band was a little harder to work with then other pairs I have worn. Even so it wasn’t so much of a problem that I wouldn’t try them again.
I tried them with minimal make-up as I wanted to use them for a sweeter look in the future, however I felt they overpowered it a little. Maybe something more dainty next time?! Anyway, I felt the lashes were a good size and length – I did also cut some down to use as lower accent lashes, which I preferred.
Overall I am happy with the two sets I was sent this time.
Both sets of lashes are under $8 for a pack of 10!!
For some everyday-use or ‘first try’ lashes that’s such a bargain!!
They ship worldwide and delivery is super fast~
You can purchase any of these lashes and many more different types and brands here.

KKcenterhk also sell cosmetics, wigs, hosiery etc. so be sure to check them out!!

Review: Korean Bulk False Eyelashes

Recently, KKcenterhk offered to sponsor me with some of the eyelashes featured on their store. They stock a variety of lashes and the ones I choose were the 10 pair multipacks from the Korean company ‘ES’. I’m sure you have seen these online before, and I know some of you have even bought some yourselves.
I don’t currently own many ‘fuller lashes’ so I choose 3 packs from their large selection.
I only applied a little bit of eyeliner in the following pictures as I wanted to blend the lashes but show them off, without make-up.
A005 – here
As you can see, they’re a little shiny looking. However they don’t feel plastic-y, actually they’re very soft – but the band was a little stiff. They’re very full and thick looking though – maybe a little too much for me. These really are great though for a dramatic, full look.

Unfortunately they didn’t suit me – this picture makes them look unreal haha
I did have to cut the length slightly as they were too long. I always thought I had strange, tiny eyes and these lashes kind of exaggerated that…or maybe it was just me. Either way they would blend much better with make-up, of course.
A22 – here
These ones were slightly thinner, but still had a full look to them. They were also very soft and much easier to apply than the previous pair. I really liked the feathered look these lashes had, it made them a little more natural but still appropriate for heavier make-up.

I thought this pair were a lot better than the previous ones. I will definitely wear these more in the future when I want a heavier eye with thicker lashes.
A008 – here
These were my favourites of the 3 sets. The lashes were thicker, but more natural and the band wasn’t stiff – so easy to apply and quite comfortable. They weren’t as shiny and blended much better.

These lashes would be great for a ‘natural’ look but also with a more dramatic eye. I love that one pair of lashes can work for two different looks, hence why they are my favourites.
What about the lashes I didn’t like so much?!

I used a bit of silver glitter eyeliner and added a few sparkles to them.
This also separated them out a little bit so they’re not as full. I had seen quite a few pairs like these in-store and wanted to try them out, but I wasn’t sure about the glitter. So instead of wasting money and throwing the other pairs out, I created a new pair of lashes.

All of the above sets of lashes are under $4!!
For some everyday or ‘first try’ lashes that’s such a bargain!!
They ship worldwide and delivery is super fast~

You can purchase any of these lashes (except for the D.I.Y glitter ones) and many more different types and brands here.
