I’ve been after a velvet skater skirt for months!
My bestie even went searching for me for Christmas.
However I’ve not had much luck… that is, until now!
I spotted this one in the Urban Outfitters post-Christmas sale for only £10.
It comes in 3 different colours but I went for red wine, although I wish I’d bought one in every colour!
The rest of the items you probably remember as they’ve been featured before in previous OOTD posts
Even so they’re items that I love but haven’t worn in awhile, therefore I decided to pop these all together.
I don’t feel so bad buying items in the sales this year as my washing machine broke this weekend.
I’m thinking of asking my landlord if he can just continue to buy me new items rather than a new washing machine.
Oh well, a girl can always dream!
Don’t forget to visit Oasap and use discount code: ‘bloomzy’ for 35% off!
I’m back, with a fabulous new baroque look!
Well not exactly, but this baroque style jumper by Glamorous is pretty fabulous (rhyme not intended).
Luckily I have free reign over what I wear to work, and this jumper and skirt combo just seemed perfect.
Smart casual is totally my thing and the gold glitter detail adds a little bit of pizazz for the Christmas season.
The jumper itself was pretty warm and soft, not itchy as I’d feared after seeing the glitter threading.
I did however pop a long sleeve top underneath as I feel the cold a bit too much, but it didn’t obstruct the silhouette.
The jersey skirt I bought from Topshop a couple of months ago has been such an investment.
It really does suit so many looks and I’m able to layer it with jumpers, dresses and tops etc.
I finished off my baroque look with my gold panther heel detail shoes from Urban Outfitters.
Unfortunately they don’t sell the black any more but they do now have black-glitter & burgundy versions.
I’ve missed doing OOTD posts, so I’m going to do a couple in a row this week!
Top: Internacionale | Skirt: Miss Selfridge | Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Here is today’s outfit…well last nights. I don’t often post my ‘night’ outfits on here, so I thought it might make a change. I was just going for a meal with the fiancé so hopefully I didn’t look too OTT…or gothic, in all black.
The shirt is a sheer material with gold & ‘crystal’ studs dotted all over it. Add my mini faux-leather skirt, deadly panther court shoes & Marc Jacobs bracelet, and you’re done! I even took a chance with the weather and went bare legged, for the first time in months. Very liberating! Altogether nothing too fancy, but not something I personally would put together for a casual day outfit.
What do you guys like to wear for a night out?
I managed to grab a couple of items that called out to me, whilst avoiding the other 90% of the store that I wanted to buy.
The Gem Stone Stud Earrings were in the sale, and as I don’t often wear studs I decided to give them a go. Photos just can’t do these justice. They sparkle and shine in all the right places. Love them!
Recently I had been eyeing a particular pair of heels by Deena & Ozzy on the online store, which I also bought during my visit. The Black Panther Court Shoes
can speak for themselves, gorgeous, no? However
after only wearing them for a coffee date, I’ve found a design flaw
. The heel has already started to wear down (as you can see in the photos)
, which worries me, as I’m not too sure whether I will be able to have them re-heeled properly due to the detailing. Apart from that I don’t really have any complaints, although I should mention that since the material is ‘suedette’ they do collect dust and dirt easily.
Do I regret buying them? Hmm…I have bought cheaper heels that have lasted longer. I don’t expect heels to wear down after half an hour of walking BUT I shall try and work out a solution.
Hilton Hotel, Leeds City Centre, Little Tokyo
For mine and my fiancé’s 3 year anniversary I decided to treat him to a weekend away.
Lucky for me The Hilton Hotel
has some great offers on right now. Their Leeds hotel was just as lovely as any of their others I had previously visited. With a gym, swimming pool, spa, restaurant and bar you could stay inside all weekend!
As tempting as that was, we did venture outside eventually…
I had a few places I wanted to visit, such as Harvey Nichols, Seasons, Topshop and Urban Outfitters.
Unfortunately neither Harvey Nichols nor Seasons had the Marc Jacobs phone case I have been searching for. I think I will definitely have to buy it online. However, Topshop and Urban Outfitters did have what I wanted. I shall post those later!
After some retail therapy
we headed to Little Tokyo
, a wonderful Japanese restaurant that Sami
had previously introduced me to. Their food is delicious, especially their vegan options. I’m not a vegan myself, but I love vegetables and tofu.
It did snow quite a bit that weekend, and unfortunately it disrupted our stay a little, meaning we had to head home early so we didn’t get caught up in any delays on the train. Any Brits reading this will know of the chaos that snow causes to our transport every year.
Unfortunately the battery died in the camera, so there aren’t as many photos as I would have liked, sorry.
Crop Jumper: Off-brand from Tokyo | Velvet Dress: Topshop | Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Everything about this outfit screams 90’s throwback to me. Maybe it’s because at the time I was growing up in velvet dresses and skirts and my fascination with Ancient Egypt (that’s an Ankh on the necklace) was at its height. That aside, the red lipstick and cropped jumper also feel kinda 1990ish to me. Even though I grew up as a 90s kid I don’t often feel much of an affinity with the era, but wearing this did make me slightly nostalgic.
Making good use of the Macbook Pro and crazy positions – anything to get a photo of my outfit when no one is around to help. Please excuse my messy room.
