Interview by Hana @ findingtokyo….

Interview @ findingtokyo

The lovely Hana of findingtokyo has posted an interview with me, about Gal. I still don’t know why she would choose me when there are so many great Gal’s out there, but I appreciate the thought….and I hope you all enjoy the interview.
You can find it here.
p.s. If you have any questions for me, why not ask me here?!

Where are they now?

I decided to do a new set of posts, featuring past Gal idols etc.
I thought it would be nice to offer some past insight on Gal, and also keep up to date with old favourites. So say ‘hello’ to…

「Where are they now?」
Who: Hiromi Endo (遠藤裕美)
Then: Hiromi began modelling for EGG around 2002. She started off with blonde hair, following a toned down version of the popular Yamanba style – Later on she dyed her hair black. During her time at EGG her popularity rose, and it was almost impossible to open an issue of EGG without a Hiromi feature – she was also the face of Lip Service. She was the ‘Tsubasa’ of the time.
During her final days in EGG she started showing off blonde hair again, and paler skin. From Yamanba, to B-Gal, to Ganjiro – she always carried the looks off well.
Hiromi was also my personal favourite at the time, as she was always showcasing the latest trends, and she always managed to transcend styles. I was sad when she left, especially since there was no real ‘graduation’ like the Gal’s have these days. She just kind of disappeared…

Now: After leaving EGG, Hiromi went on to become a designer for popular Gal brand Lip Service – a brand which she had been the face of only a short time before. She is currently the producer of new 109 store GIMLET. She isn’t modelling for the brand, unlike a lot of ex-model’s-come-producers, instead she is taking more of a backstage approach. She constantly updates her blog about the brand’s progress and genuinely seems happy. The chosen models for the brand are Maria and Maya Mori, two very popular and current models. It seems like Hiromi is making good decisions when it comes to the advertising of the brand, but only time will tell how popular GIMLET will be.
P.s. She is now rocking blonde AND black hair…guess she couldn’t decide which to stick with this time haha.
In her latest blog entries: She mentions that she is heading to Nagoya, for the opening of the new GIMLET store in the Maruei department store. She also mentions that she has her model’s sporting nude make-up…something which she wasn’t seen without in her modelling days.

I hate to admit it, but she’s not the Hiromi she used to be. She was always skinny but now she seems ridiculously tiny, which has led to her looking a lot older than she actually is (27). It also seems that she doesn’t carry the strength that she used to…no one seems to be particularly raving about GIMLET, apart from the models (obligation) and Hiromi herself.
Were you a Hiromi fan?
Which model would you like to see in the next ‘Where are they now?’

Love Nation, Momoeri Girl Shop & Visalia…

Love Nation
The popular ‘LOVE NATION…’ CD is back this month. Entitled ‘Love Nation…gift for the children’ it will be released on the 10th. This is the second time for Tsubasa to collaborate on the album, and this time round she wants to thank all of the subscribers to her blog, so she choose songs that were memorable to her.
You can find artists such as M-flo, Boa and Koda Kumi on the tracklist.
For fans living outside of Japan, you can order a copy here.
Momoeri Girl Shop
Momoeri has revealed her next business venture – The Momoeri Girl Shop.
All of the original items on the webstore feature Momoeri’s cartoon persona who is just as cute as Momoeri herself. You can buy accessories, stationary, interior items and much more…although the site is still new so there isn’t much up right now. But keep checking back because the prices are great, and everything is super cute…even the cigarette lighters, and I am a non-smoker haha.
V.V.P.Visalia
You will be able to get your hands on some cute Momoeri Girl t-shirts from 109’s V.V.P.Visalia, as modelled by the adorable Staff-chan above. Both of the t-shirts are priced at a very decent 2,940円. You can buy them from the Visalia webstore.
V.V.P.Visalia are also collaborating with well-known model Megumi Ikeda (Ikemegu). Two special photo t-shirts are being released, both are priced at 3,990円. Buy both of the t-shirts and you will receive a present; a special Visalia eco bag.

Which t-shirts do you prefer?
Momoeri’s cutesy cartoon, or Ikemegu’s sexy photos?

W♥C & Coordinate….

W♥C
Chinatsu has updated her blog with a little info on W♥C.
She mentions that she is hard at work on the new Summer line.
From the pictures she has uploaded – one where she is sporting a rather odd hat, and a devil/angel sketch – it looks like we can expect even more original items from her next season.
I really do think W♥C will continue to go from strength to strength this year, so fingers crossed the Summer collection is just as fabulous…and they stock a lot more.
It looks like the last of the Spring items are finally being added online. The gorgeous t-shirt/ethnic skirt onepiece I had my eye on has already sold out in both styles though D:
Coordinate
We had 4 girl students visiting from Meio, university (Okinawa, Japan) last weekend so I thought I would pull out the new denim shirt. I paired it with my ‘Chanel-style’ onepiece and lace tights – I didn’t want it to come over as too tomboyish.
The girls were lovely, and they’d brought us gifts. They gave me a print of some Sakura (haha so Japanese), Jasmine tea, Okinawan shortbread (omg so~ good) and some Okinawan raw sugar, which is supposed to keep you healthy and help you live to over 100!! Although it tasted a bit odd, and you have to eat at least one piece a day D:
One girl asked me what I liked to do, so I told her “shopping!!” she laughed and suddenly all the girls turned to me and said “you like Shibuya 109?!” It was a little odd and usually I’d be a little cautious about saying yes (Japanese people can be a little awkward when finding out that you like Gal), but it seemed that they had already assumed that I did. Whereas none of them were full on Gal, they all had dyed hair and some had a few aspects of Gal worked into their style. So it was all good ;D
Sorry for me babbling on about myself XD

Twitter, Tumblr, Formspring….

Hey guys, just a quick update on where you can find me online…

Twitter
OK, so I am now on Twitter.
If you’ve been following me (thank you), you will already know this.
My latest updates can also be viewed on the sidebar.
You can find me here.
Tumblr
I now have a tumblr also, mainly for the viewing pleasure of other people.
I know I like to find cute images online for inspiration etc. and I’d love to share them with you too.
You can find me here.
Formspring
Finally, formspring.
I joined today as some of my classmates and fellow bloggers have one.
So if you have a question you would like to ask, please go ahead.
You can find me here.
You will notice that all these urls have bloomzy spelt with three o’s. This is because bloomzy is usually taken for some unknown and strange reason. Therefore my url’s from now on will feature this, so sorry for any confusion.

What were they thinking?

「What were they thinking?」
Business woman Tsubasa Masuwaka has a new collaboration under her belt this month.
She already has a long list of collab’s including; make-up, hair accessories, eyelashes, clothing…so what’s the next step for this busy lady?!
Sanitary towels, of course!!
Now, this may be something that every girl needs so correct me if I’m wrong, but does there really need to be a brand specifically aimed at Gals?! Surely we’re all the same when it comes down to something like this.
Tsubasa comments on her blog about how cute they are, and the different sizes and types. Elis (womens hygiene care company) are very smart, they know that Tsubasa will draw in the crowds but it does seem a little odd to have someone collaborating on such a thing, right? I know that I really couldn’t care less if my favourite model is collaborating on feminine hygiene products and making sure they’re ‘really cute’. In fact it kinda weirds me out.
Whether you like them or hate them…if you happen to be caught in Japan and it’s ‘that time’ why not visit your local store and pick up some Tsubasa endorsed sanitary towels. Be quick though, they’re only on sale until the stock is cleared!! haha

What’s in your make-up bag….

What’s in your make-up bag?
Everyone knows a Gal’s make-up bag is a prized possession, so I decided to show you all what I keep in my make-up bag (this is just my ‘everyday’ make-up bag, it doesn’t include all the random pieces I have scattered on my dresser).
  1. Soin des Levres Lipcare – Paul & Joe (Disney Collection – Marie)
  2. CHERRY Glamour eyes quick mascara – TAUHAUS
  3. Liquid eyeliner (black) – Dollywink
  4. Pencil eyeliner (black) – Dollywink
  5. Concealer (light) – Collection 2000
  6. Highlighter pen (white) – ?? haha sorry, the brand has come off the label.
  7. Soin Tendres Levres Lipcare – Chanel
  8. Rouge Hydrabase Lipstick (128.magnolia rose) – Chanel
  9. Glitter eyeliner (gold, green) – No.7 & Collection 2000
  10. Ombre Unique Shadowlights (21.Vega) – Chanel
  11. Blusher (light pink) – 17
So that is my basic make-up collection. I only tend to use everything at once though on a night out etc.
My everyday make-up routine involves; liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, mascara, highlighter, blusher and concealer. It may not seem like much but I prefer to go for a more natural look (which is in this season) for lectures, and a more dramatic look for leisure days/nights out…depending on my mood.
I hate to say it but it usually depends on how well rested I was the night before, and whether I have the time. Most of my weekdays are early mornings and I am not a morning person haha.

So as you can see I am a big fan of Chanel for eyeshadow (I have another 2 eye compacts) and lipstick/care. Quality over quantity is my belief. It may cost a little more, but you don’t want to use poor quality products on your skin, especially if you’re like me and are quite sensitive.
Remember, make-up may make you look good now but we also need to look after our skin for the future too 😀
What’s in your make-up bags?
Do you have a selection of products that you use everyday?
Oh, and today’s coordinates.
