FHF & Hair Tutorial Scans….

Fashion Hime Friday
A big thank you to Sara Mari, who featured me on this weeks ‘Fashion Hime Friday‘.
I’m sure you all know about Sara’s amazing blog already, but if you don’t then definitely check it out.
Hair Tutorial Scans
I was looking through some scans from April’s issue of AGEHA and I saw some pretty simple, but cute hair tutorials. I plan on trying a few of these out, and maybe posting the images up here soon – if I don’t fail at it completely ;D
So simple and very cute – Looks easy enough for us Gals with thin hair too.
Perfect for this seasons Mori Gal look.
Another simple but effective look.
This last scan is actually from JELLY, but it shows off some of this seasons must-have hair accessories, such as: braid (it doesn’t have to be your own hair)/headband, the scarf, can-can hat. I personally love all 3 of these looks because you can work them into almost all of this season’s trends.
The scarf, and the can-can hat are great for this season’s western trend:
But don’t forget, the scarf is also a great all-round accessory for most of this seasons looks. And a can-can hat is the perfect accent for any feminine coordinate.
And the braid/headband is a great alternative to using your own hair, as seen on the cover of the May issue of JELLY:
Will you be trying out any of these styles this season?
Or wearing any of these accessories?

Remember: If you have any questions about me/the blog or ideas about what you’d like to see on the blog, leave a comment here.

Coordinates and Model Updates….

First off I’d just like to apologise for my absence. I’ve had a rather busy weekend, which was full of Birthday Parties and stress (you’ll know all about the latter if you have me on facebook, lol). But things have calmed down at the moment, so hopefully I can start posting regularly again.
Coordinates

I thought I would post a few of my recent coordinates.
The first is a lovely floral Spring dress that I bought a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I tried it on, I had to have it. The colours are so bright and the print is gorgeous. I also love how it fits, which means it looks equally as nice without a belt – although next time I’m going to belt-up haha.
The second is a coordinate I wore to a friends party. I wore my ‘Glad News’ inspired fast-fashion onpiece from Donki (see the Sakurina reference below). I paired it with lace leggings for a different look this time.
Lastly, todays coordinate. I wore a coordinate that I haven’t done for a while. I was re-inspired when Samispo0n posted a picture from last months NUTS that reminded her of my coordinate. I also paired it with my black studded hat and a blazer.
Model Updates
I just wanted to post a couple of pictures that caught my eye whilst browsing some Gal blogs recently….I really wish they would update more, with new products/ventures etc.
Sakurina has dyed her hair again. It’s cute and it suits her but the close-up of black and red makes it look a little dirty, sorry Sakurina – I love youuuu haha. Also, check out her ‘Glad News’ onepiece – I’m so pleased I got that now, much cheaper and the new prints they’re coming out with are gorgeous and mean it will last into Spring hopefully.
I also wanted to post these pics of Tsubasa, when she was in Okinawa. Such a simple coordinate but it gives off such a Spring vibe. Motherhood is doing wonders for her, she looks gorgeous. Also, do I see an Eiffel Tower on her nails?! Maybe to celebrate her new photobook – CUTE!!
I’m also crushing on Chinatsu’s make-up atm. That gurl sure knows what to do , and she has such variety, love it. I especially like her use of all the different eyelashes she has, and the nude lip – which I’m far too pale to try but do adore when done properly.
Finally, a big thank you…
To Samispo0n, who gave me a belated Birthday present this weekend. She’s too good to me.
I looked everywhere in Tokyo for the Dollywink eyelash case, but never had the luck of finding one. Now I have somewhere to store my eyelashes, which I have started wearing more often – you might be pleased to know ;D

Shinjuku baby….

This isn’t exactly Gal related, but today I found out which university I will be studying at in Japan.
I shall be going to…
Mejiro University, Shinjuku!!
I am so pleased. It’s right in the heart of Tokyo, and not too far from Shibuya ;D
Now if I can find affordable accommodation I will be happy haha.

Gal meme….

Gal Meme
Everyone seems to be doing this, so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. Thanks to Ran who originally wrote this up.

1. Describe your style as a Gal.
I prefer the rock look more than anything, but for spring I’m feeling a little girlier – Hello Florals.

2. Which models inspire you to get dressed?
Sakurina – she always has the perfect mixture of rock & girly, which is something I love to incorporate into my look.

3. Which brands are you wearing lately?
A lot of offbrand items that mimic 109 buys, as I am currently saving for when I move to Japan after exams *fingers crossed*

4. What was your first thing from 109?
A t-shirt from ‘Delyle’ – monotone with a Parisian flair.

5. What compliment about your wardrobe do you like best?
Lately I keep getting comments on how people want the clothes I am wearing. It means a lot to me if people can see something I am wearing, and then like it so much that they want to buy it themselves.

6. What do you wear most often?
Now it’s getting a little warmer, floral dresses and denim shirt – love this combo.

7. I like getting….
Mail, like Alanna said it’s nice to get something through the mail every now and then.

8. What do you look at first when you see a Gal?
Hair and make-up. Sure clothing is important, but whenever I’m in 109 I love to check out the hair and make-up on the Gals.

9. What Gal rules have you broken?
A lot probably, haha. But I think I have learnt from my mistakes.

10. What would you never wear?
Leggings as pants…haha it might sound random, but it’s something I was speaking to Samispo0n about recently.

11. What do you think is essential for a good look?
Confidence, and putting effort into your style.

12. How do you feel when viewed as a Gal?
Hmm it’s not really come up, although some Japanese girls did randomly ask me if I shopped at 109 and I said yes. I wouldn’t personally call myself Gal. I follow the fashion but I don’t think I’m good enough yet.

13. Do you have many friends that are Gal?
It doesn’t bother me whether I have friends who are Gal.
I have lots of lovely and fashionable friends, but they each follow their own style and that’s why they’re so great.

14. What is the next thing that you plan to buy, that you desperately need?
BOOTS!! Haha I keep seeing pairs of boots that I want, but when I go back they’re gone.
I guess it means I should look for something else ;D

15. What’s your favourite accessory?
My rings. One diamond; from my parents – Another Swarovski; from my boyfriend.

16. Sexy, monotone or elegant?
More monotone than the others, although I do like to add a little bit of sexy to a night-time outfit.

17. Would you wear clothes that aren’t in fashion?
I bought some lovely items in 109 last Summer and I will probably try to incorporate them into this years trends.

18. What is your current obsession?
Florals – I didn’t think it would happen, but there are so many great prints out atm.

19. Do you like to spread Gal fashion? How do you do it?
I’m not going to force it onto anyone, but I do enjoy spreading the word.
I do it through this blog and hopefully it works ;D

20. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Make sure you pick a style that suits your personality, and just keep trying out new things until you find something that makes you happy.

I’m sorry for my lack of updates lately.
I am very busy with university – deadlines etc. I will try and update at the weekend though.

Ageha top 10 meme….

Here is the ‘Ageha Top 10’ meme that Mitsu, Alanna and myself have decided to take up.
It was quite hard to think of a ‘Top 10’ and I realised that I couldn’t properly rank everything. So in no particular order…
Enjoy~
I hope you will all post your top 10’s. I can’t wait to see them.
p.s. Would you guys be interested in seeing some translated scans?
I’m quite busy right now with university but I am hoping to help Mitsu with some translations soon…so let me know.

I would just like to thank everyone who follows this blog.
I can’t believe I now have 100 followers, it seems odd that people would want to read my posts.
To commemorate this I thought it might be funny (for you) and awkward (for me) to see how I have ‘evolved’ over the years haha. The pictures show the changes in my make-up and hair styles.

2006-2008
Wow some of those are pretty shocking, right? But hopefully I have learnt from my past styles…Can you guess at which point I started incorporating Gal into my style?! Or are they all too dismal to tell haha.
As you can see I’ve tried just about everything with my hair. I have had it long (when I was yonger), cut super short and then extensions. I also dyed it blonde/ginger at one point…for those wondering what my original hair colour is; I am a very dark brunette. I am naturally pale though so I opt for a lighter shade.
I also noticed just how much eyeliner I used to wear, that was a shock. I really needed to tone it down back then XD
And here I am now!!
Well 2010 anyways…my hair is a lighter copper now.
Sorry for the lack of make-up in the above picture, but I think this shows just how much I have changed. I am currently very happy with the way I do my hair, make-up and dress. Before Gal was just an interest but now it’s something I think about, do and follow (hopefully well) everyday.
I wish I had pictures of past outfits, but I was never confident enough to take full body shots D:
Well luckily I feel so comfortable with my style now, that I can do so!! Which is helpful for this blog lol
I don’t know if that was any help or interest to anyone, but I think to make this blog more personal it’s important for you guys to see how my style has evolved. I feel a little nervous showing this off here, because some people can be rather harsh with their criticism but I am not claiming to be the best at Gal and I never have. I just have an interest in it and it makes me happy when I dress this way.
SO THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
Hopefully we can work together and evolve into the ‘Gal’ that we want to be 😀

Scarves, Deco and Sailors?!

The ‘Scarf’ Trend
A few examples from April issue of Happie Nuts.
I’m sure you have all noticed or at least heard by now about the current Scarf boom in Gal. If not then definitely check out this post by Mitsu – everything you need to know, and a little how-to for those a bit unsure of what to do.
Scarves can be seen in most current issues of Gal magazines, whether worn on the head or as an accessory – although the head scarf seems to be most popular right now.
And all of the models are working it; Popteen’s Wei Son & Yui Kanno, Momoeri, Romihi is stocking up on Bandanas from SBY, and it’s also a fave with Nori & Tae.
I had a go this past week, and here are a few pics;
Left; Regular scarf made into a bow
Right; Ready-made lace bow, wrapped around my bun (thanks Samispo0n).
The ‘hippie’ look that a few models seem to be working.
And to prove that even animals can work the current Gal trend…
My puppy – Sam XD
What do you think of the current Scarf trend?

Deco-Den
You may remember one of my fledgling posts about deco-ing my cellphone, here.
Well I had a long train journey back to uni this weekend, so I thought I’d give it a go – yes on the train, haha. No I’m not crazy, I cheated and used a glue sheet on the phone, so it was a lot easier.
I used pink gems and pearls to accent the pink and creme purikura of my boyf and I…
What do you think?

Finally, some fancy dress…
I went out to a club night with some friends last week, and the theme was ‘Nautical Night’ – pirates and sailors. I originally wanted to be a pirate but in the end opted for a Sailor theme.
How is this related to Gal, I hear you ask.
Well I’m sure that Gal’s love to do fancy dress as much as everyone else (possible idea for a post?!), and I tried out some new hair/make-up so I thought I’d show you.
17 Blue eye dazzle dust (poor lighting doesn’t show it off),
Dolly wink liquid & pencil eyeliner,
Accent lashes.
I curled my hair and placed it into bunches, unfortunately my hair is very thin, as you can see in the pics above. That was my hair teased!! My hair dresser keeps telling me to stop straightening, backcombing and dying my hair etc. I would opt for extensions but that wouldn’t offer my hair much relief either, haha.
Does anyone have any tips on thickening your hair – with products/vitamins etc?
