Photo Diary: Cream Cakes & A Dog Show

Last weekend I went home to spend some time with my family.
As about 99% of my close family have dogs we decided to head to the county dog show.
I hadn’t been to one before but was excited to be around so many cute pups and to test out my new camera.
It was a glorious day so I dressed up and donned my sunglasses and my new obsession…a head scarf!
Of course we also had to stop for tea, as we’re oh so typically English.
I met plenty of adorable dogs and couldn’t stop snapping away, so here are a few of my favourites.
Oddly enough I didn’t actually take many photos of my own dog at the show – I know I’m a terrible owner.
The little black cockapoo belongs to my Uncle though, and the bulldog to my cousin.
The rest are just doggies I couldn’t resist taking a snap of.

OOTD: A Catch Up

Here’s another catch-up from my Instagram, for those who don’t follow me on there. I have been taking more outfits shots on there lately for various reasons and I wanted to share them. I’ve been trying my best to incorporate more colour into my outfits, as you all know I do love to wear black. I especially love monochrome, as you can spot in some of the photos, but hey, at least it’s not black on black. So you’ll spot a touch of colour here and there, whether it’s a full on dress or shirt, or maybe a scarf or pendant. It’s difficult getting myself out of such a bad habit but I think I’ve been doing pretty well as of late.

Photo Diary: Hyper Japan 2013

Here is the first post from Hyper Japan 2013.
This post is very photo heavy, so I’ve hidden it under a cut.

Japanese inspired nail art @ Sanagi Atelier – website

Angelic Pretty, Japanese cosmetics, wigs, toys, accessories and more @ Dreamy Bows – website
This stall was also run in conjunction with Tofu Cute – website
Handmade jewellery and accessories @ Roxie Sweetheart

This is just a small collection of photos I managed to take before my camera died.
I was impressed with the selection of Japanese fashion and cosmetic stalls on show this year.
Of course I love the culture and food sections equally, but I wanted to focus on the fashion/beauty.
I’ve placed a little info and credit under some of the photos, so you can shop online for yourselves.
Keep an eye out for a special Hyper Japan 2013 Youtube video coming soon!
Which stall looked the most interesting to you?
If you went which was your favourite stall this year?

Photo Diary: Masturi in London, Dalston Roof Park

Last weekend, the fiancé and I headed down the road to Dalston Roof Park for Matsuri in London.
For those who don’t know ‘matsuri’ is Japanese for festival, which means food, drink and a good time.
The event itself was set up by Fumio Tanga of Sho Foo Doh & Tim Anderson (Masterchef 2011 Winner).
Some of London’s best Japanese street food, cocktails, cinema, music and artists gathered for the event.
We arrived to Dalston Roof Park and a very long line of confused people – some had tickets and others didn’t. It took a bunch of us enquiring for the problem to be solved but eventually after waiting for a bit we headed in. We were greeted by a very sunny & hot roof top, where we proceeded to jump upon refreshing green tea cocktails. It was good that we had bought tickets as the venue soon started filling up and buzzing with excitement from eager foodies etc. We indulged in okonomiyaki and karaage burgers whilst lounging on the roof top, taking in a bird’s eye view of East London. It was pretty relaxing and the food was more than good. However we didn’t notice or hear about any of the ‘special events’ that were supposed to be taking place. I was also a little sad when I went to buy some matcha soft cream and was told the flavour was changing, and I would have to wait 30 minutes. Sorry guys but I only wait for matcha.
Overall I had a good time at the event, thanks to good food and company.
I’d definitely head to Dalston Roof Park again and I hope another ‘Matsuri in London’ is held next year.

Photoshoot: Warehouse Fashion Blogger

Jersey Tee* – Warehouse | Shorts* – Warehouse | Jacket* – Warehouse | Necklace – Topshop | Sunglasses* – Warehouse*

Last week I was Warehouse’s featured fashion blogger! That meant I got to meet some of their lovely team and do a photo shoot with them. I remember buying my prom dress from Warehouse so this is a brand I have a personal history with. I was able to choose my outfit, which I did after being given free reign of one of the Warehouse stores. I choose around 6-7 items, but I knew as soon as I had it on, that this outfit was the one for me!
Even more exciting (and convenient) was the theme and location for the shoot. The theme behind the fashion blogger shoots is ‘Postcards from Shoreditch’, and I’m a Shoreditch gal! The team scouted some locations and we ended up outside Pitfield’s – a gorgeous furniture-goods store/cafe. The colours and contemporary signage made this the perfect place to take photos (with their consent of course). I had fun playing around with poses and acting all model-y and nonchalant – do you guys think I pulled it off? I had such a great time taking part and the photos turned out great too! I hope I can do more photo shoots in the future!
See my photo shoot and a small Q&A with me, here.

Photo Diary: A Week in My Shoes

In the past week I’ve been working but making time for fun also.
It started with me going for dinner with Nhuc & Sophie, for a catch-up.
The amazingly gorgeous cake was mine & Nhuc’s dessert…no not the whole thing.
The next day I attended the Spirit of Summer Fair with Anna – watch my vlog here.
I did some chocolate tasting at the event (with Paul A Young) as well as some shopping.
I should have bought a new perfume as my favourite Jo Malone fragrance ran out, luckily I have another.
During the week my dad came to visit (whilst my mum stayed at home to take care of the dog).
We attended the Netsuke Exhibition at the Japanese Embassy – the main reason for his visit.
We went for lunch at The Breakfast Club, as it’s one of his favourite places.
Then we popped next door to one of Paul A Young’s chocolate shops.
I was treated to a box of amazingly delicious chocolates.
So that’s pretty much my week, it wasn’t anything too crazy exciting but it was fun.
I also took a few outfit shots (see ootd post here), to keep things flowing.
