OOTD: Dotty for Dots

(Blouse: Oasap*, Skirt: Topshop, Necklace: Tatty Devine, Watch: Marc Jacobs)

Finally this weekend I was able to go out and enjoy myself properly.
I’ve been sick for over a week now but I’m starting to feel more like myself.
That meant I had the energy to finally take some outfit shots.
Luckily my new shirt arrived in time to do just that.

The shirt is a recent find on Oasap that isn’t something I’d usually pick.
I’ve followed Jenny’s blog for years and I love her casual, feminine, pretty style.
I guess I had that in mind when I saw this, so I decided to try out something new.
I was pretty excited for the shirt to arrive and I’m genuinely glad that I choose it now.
It’s great for the muggy weather we’re having lately, and I can pair it with so many things.
I wore it with my Topshop skater skirt this time, and threw on a whole bunch of accessories.
Thankfully it turned out casual and fun, which is what I was going for.
Don’t forget to visit Oasap and use discount code: ‘bloomzy’ for 35% off!

Photo Diary: OOTD Catch-up

In the last couple of weeks I’ve been having some fun with my outfits.
I was finally able to pop to my parent’s house and bring back my Summer wardrobe.
You know your country has a problem with weather when you store your seasonal clothing away.
Typically English whining aside, I loved being able to wear some dresses and show my legs off again.
I was also pretty ecstatic as I found my infamous ‘Purple Paris Trousers’ amongst my Summer clothes.
I love them to pieces but some people just don’t seem to be able to understand just how amazing they are.
So I intend to rep them on the blog as much as possible this Summer!
On the darker days I was able to shine with the help of accessories and my amazingly bright red hair.
I’ve been wearing a lot of accessories by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Tatty Devine and indie brands recently.
As gorgeous as they all are though, I don’t think anything is as good an accessory as my hair is right now.
Don’t worry I’m not becoming bigheaded, I’m just super happy (and pretty proud) of my hair for once.
Ever since I had it done at Bleach I’ve had people stopping me to tell me how much they love the colour.
It’s a silly little compliment but it boosts my confidence and makes me glad I went back to red.

OOTD: Summer Blues

(Skater Dress: Warehouse*, Necklace: Gift from a friend)
Honestly the last few days (I’m writing this on a horrible rainy Tuesday) have been lovely.
We’ve had sun, and even heat, which I know some of you non-Brits may find hard to believe.
That meant that I was finally able to rummage through the depths of my wardrobe, and bring out my Summer clothing.
This dress (from Warehouse) seemed like a ray of hope when it arrived on my doorstep a week or so ago.
It was a reminder that one day we would have sunshine, so naturally it was one of the first things I got out!
I think this is probably the simplest OOTD I’ve done to date.
I’m not a fan of throwing on tons of accessories when it’s warm, and this dress doesn’t need it.
I think the cut and fit of the dress stand out enough by itself, so I went for simple accessories.
The necklace from my friend Anna seemed like the perfect accompaniment.
I think I’ll often be pairing this with my tennis shoes when Summer finally hits properly.

Photo Diary: A Week in My Shoes

In the past week I’ve been working but making time for fun also.
It started with me going for dinner with Nhuc & Sophie, for a catch-up.
The amazingly gorgeous cake was mine & Nhuc’s dessert…no not the whole thing.
The next day I attended the Spirit of Summer Fair with Anna – watch my vlog here.
I did some chocolate tasting at the event (with Paul A Young) as well as some shopping.
I should have bought a new perfume as my favourite Jo Malone fragrance ran out, luckily I have another.
During the week my dad came to visit (whilst my mum stayed at home to take care of the dog).
We attended the Netsuke Exhibition at the Japanese Embassy – the main reason for his visit.
We went for lunch at The Breakfast Club, as it’s one of his favourite places.
Then we popped next door to one of Paul A Young’s chocolate shops.
I was treated to a box of amazingly delicious chocolates.
So that’s pretty much my week, it wasn’t anything too crazy exciting but it was fun.
I also took a few outfit shots (see ootd post here), to keep things flowing.

Photo Diary: OOTD(s)

I realise the blog has been lacking in OOTD posts recently.
That’s mainly down to me being lazy poor time management on my part.
I tend to get ready and then head out of the house, and forget to take a photo whilst I’m out.
I’m trying to change as I love doing OOTD posts – yes, I enjoy dressing up and pouting in front of a camera.
Really I need to make more time, but when I’m rushing about there’s always the next best thing.

I have taken to Instagraming a few photos here and there, when I’ve had the time. I’m not a big fan of putting OOTD shots on there as I don’t think you see much detail – I prefer to take shots of particular items on my Instagram, but I’ve had a change of heart recently. So I’ve been having fun taking shots of what I’ve been wearing, in front of my mirror etc.

So I decided to share some of my Instagram outfit shots with you.
I know not everyone has Instagram, and those that do don’t necessarily follow me.
So here you go, I hope you enjoy!

OOTD: Stripey & Chic

(Dress: China Doll Boutique, Necklace: Tatty Devine, Watch: Marc Jacobs, Bracelet: Rêves D’Hiver)
Finally, after waiting for so long, the warm weather is here!!
I celebrate by stopping by China Doll Boutique’s (now named Sugar & Style) Box Park pop-up.
Nhuc is always lovely & chatty, and after browsing her new items (some from Paris!) I tried a few on.
Although I loved some of the new printed trousers I decided that a light Summer dress would be best.
This one just screamed Parisian-chic to me, and I loved the simplicity of it – more to accessorise with!
The cut is super flattering, which surprised me as I have some rather prominent boobs and bum going on.
I think this may be my go-to Summer casual dress, especially as it suits my new hairstyle so well.
Unfortunately the dress isn’t available on the online store, but you can find it in the Box Park store!

OOTD: Ski Holiday Chamonix

(Kit from various ski stores around Chamonix & Argentière)

Now I bet you weren’t expecting me to look this good so early in the morning, were you? Joking aside, as I am currently on a skiing holiday in Chamonix I thought I’d share a fitting outfit post. I was kitted up the morning after we arrived in France, as I don’t actually own any ski gear. The decision to own any kind of sports equipment went out the window after I left high school.
I didn’t really have much choice with the boots and skis as I rented them. However I do love how the rental guy matched my boots and skis to my coat. He was a pretty funny guy who enjoyed my comments about how ski boots could be practical & flashy. We also had a laugh after he asked me whether I wanted “gloves or muffins” – a lost in translation moment. The French word for mittens is ‘moufle’ which kind of sounds like muffins, but only ever so slightly. I felt the need to share that little anecdote with you all…sorry.
Anyway, I don’t think I’ll be investing in any ski gear anytime soon.
