Challenge: 7 Days 7 Different Outfits

Who here finds it difficult not to recycle items of clothing during the week?
I often find myself desperately washing an item in the middle of the week just so I can wear it again.
Maybe it’s because I have favourites, or maybe it’s because I’m lazy and it’s just easier for me that way? Either way I want to get out of the habit of falling back on wearing the same item a few times a week. “So how am you going to remedy this?” I hear you ask. Well I’m going to set myself a little challenge.
I am going to challenge myself to wear 7 different outfits in 7 days. Yes, for one whole week I will be unable to recycle an item of clothing. Of course things like shoes, tights and accessories aren’t included as that would be unfair. I shall be doing mine via my blog and Instagram, as both are good at keeping me motivated. I will update here at the end of my 7 consecutive days, but I may do a mid-week post if I can. It’s going to be difficult, but it’s also going to be a lot of fun along the way!
I also want YOU to get involved! You can take part via your blog, Instagram or Twitter.
If you fancy taking part too, leave a link to your blog etc in the comments below.
Also remember to use the #7days7ootd hashtag on Twitter/Instagram so we can all stay connected.

OOTD: A Catch Up

Here’s another catch-up from my Instagram, for those who don’t follow me on there. I have been taking more outfits shots on there lately for various reasons and I wanted to share them. I’ve been trying my best to incorporate more colour into my outfits, as you all know I do love to wear black. I especially love monochrome, as you can spot in some of the photos, but hey, at least it’s not black on black. So you’ll spot a touch of colour here and there, whether it’s a full on dress or shirt, or maybe a scarf or pendant. It’s difficult getting myself out of such a bad habit but I think I’ve been doing pretty well as of late.

OOTD: Go heavy on the accessories

Shirt* – Oasap | Necklace* – Oasap | Bracelet – Rêves D’Hiver | Watch* – FCUK | Rings – Oliver Bonas | The Bohemian Collective*
Lately I’ve been dressing a lot simpler, more casual. I wonder if it has anything to do with what’s going on in my life right now? I’m going through a difficult uncontrollable situation, so I’m simplifying the stuff I have control of? Even so, just because I’ve been dressing simpler doesn’t been I haven’t been putting effort into my look. Anyway, let’s not get too philosophical and ruin the feeling of this post, just a little food for thought.
Yesterday the fiancé & I headed out to brunch – a new weekend routine. I went for a monochrome polka dot-inspired look, to keep it casual but fun. I loaded on the accessories though, they’ve been my saviour lately, helping me dress up a simple outfit. My new watch is from French Connection. It’s all gold & silver (& sparkles) so I wanted things to flow with it. That meant lots of silver rings (I don’t seem to own many gold ones) and a gold bracelet & necklace. I think it suited what I was going for and it made me feel good, and that’s what matters, right?
What did I have for brunch? A Spanish chorizo & cambozola cheese omelette – delicious!

OOTD: Style It Like You Mean It

Maxi Dress – Gal Fit, Japan | Shirt – Internacionale | Bag* – Oasap | Necklace* – Oasap

First off I would like to apologise for the poor quality of these photos. I almost cried seeing the difference between these taken on my iPhone and ones taken on my camera. Unfortunately my camera broke at the weekend, due to a fault that apparently occurs in the Olympus E-PL1. It’s been a trusty camera but I’m sad to see it go, especially as it’s a stupid problem with the camera. Anyway, I’ll be using my iPhone in the meantime as I’ll need to save for a new camera.
I didn’t get a chance to take a proper photo of today’s outfit, so here is the next best thing. I know this is laid out more like a style post, but I think you can all see where I’m coming from. I found my maxi dress from Japan recently – the only one I’ve ever found for my height – amazing. The cross detail on the back of this dress was also a big reason why I bought it, it’s simple but chic. I also found this shirt I bought around a year or so ago from Internacionale and wore once, if that. Sometimes it’s quite satisfying to get some use out of old items you haven’t seen for a while. The bag and necklace are new items from Oasap though, so I’m mixing old with new.

OOTD: Orange Fancy

Dress: Topshop | Shoes – Primark | Bag – Topshop | Sunglasses* – Warehouse | Necklace – Tatty Devine

On Monday I made my way to the Southbank Centre for a friend’s graduation. I wanted something special for the day, but something I could wear afterwards too. It took a few hours of trying on different shorts, blouses and dresses to finally find this one though.
The cut of this Topshop dress is lovely and the print is amazingly loud. I knew that this would be perfect for a hot Summer’s day by the Thames. It may clash with my hair but since when I did care about clashing colours? I’m just pretty proud of myself for not resorting to choosing a black dress for the occasion. Of course I had to find a colourful backdrop, that was equally as loud as the dress.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to read my blog during my mini-hiatus.
It is still a difficult time right now, but I’m hoping to update at a speed that is comfortable to me.

Photoshoot: Warehouse Fashion Blogger

Jersey Tee* – Warehouse | Shorts* – Warehouse | Jacket* – Warehouse | Necklace – Topshop | Sunglasses* – Warehouse*

Last week I was Warehouse’s featured fashion blogger! That meant I got to meet some of their lovely team and do a photo shoot with them. I remember buying my prom dress from Warehouse so this is a brand I have a personal history with. I was able to choose my outfit, which I did after being given free reign of one of the Warehouse stores. I choose around 6-7 items, but I knew as soon as I had it on, that this outfit was the one for me!
Even more exciting (and convenient) was the theme and location for the shoot. The theme behind the fashion blogger shoots is ‘Postcards from Shoreditch’, and I’m a Shoreditch gal! The team scouted some locations and we ended up outside Pitfield’s – a gorgeous furniture-goods store/cafe. The colours and contemporary signage made this the perfect place to take photos (with their consent of course). I had fun playing around with poses and acting all model-y and nonchalant – do you guys think I pulled it off? I had such a great time taking part and the photos turned out great too! I hope I can do more photo shoots in the future!
See my photo shoot and a small Q&A with me, here.

OOTD: Neon Nightmare

Shirt* – Chicnova | Trousers – Republic | Necklace – Tatty Devine | Watch – Marc Jacobs | Cuff – Whistles

First off I would just like to apologise for how sporadic my posts have been lately. I’ve been going through a few things personally and haven’t had the mental or physical energy. I’m still dedicated to this blog, so don’t worry I won’t be giving it up. I just need a little rest now & then.

This weekend I met with Anna for brunch and a shopping trip – just what I needed to take my mind of things. I wanted to brighten myself up as the weather was so lovely and well, it’s just felt nice to do so. I put on my leggings, which are basically non-high-waisted disco pants, and my fluorescent shirt from Chicnova. Now when I say fluorescent I mean neon, radioactive green – I love it to pieces, apart from how easily it creases. I decided to pair it with my Frida necklace – hoping to mystically channel some of Frida’s strength. You know, I think it may have even worked a little bit.
Do you have a role model that you look to when you need to be stronger?
