Sale Finds Series: Collectif

ve decided to do a small series on some of my online sale finds this month.
That means I’ll be posting mini-wishlists or recommendations from various online stores.
It’s quite simple really, if I find an amazing sale I want to be able to share it with everyone!
This seems like the easiest and also best (I enjoy making wishlists too much) way to do it.
You can find the series here.

Collectif Sale Wishlist

Who? Collectif
What? 40s & 50s vintage style clothing
How much off? Up to 75% off!
Running until? Undisclosed – new items are still being added
Collectif is a 40s & 50s style vintage clothing brand I have known of for a little while.
I went to their Spitalfields store last weekend, and immediately checked out their online sale after.
I saw some of the pieces from their in-store sale and a few others that they didn’t have in the shop.
I like vintage style items, but I like to fit it into my own personal style so I don’t want to spend lots.
I featured Collectif’s Skull Print Dress on my Instagram at the weekend and a lot of people liked it.
So I decided to share their sale with all of you, in the hopes you might find something too.
You can view the full Collectif sale here.

Wish List: It’s (gonna be) My Birthday!

birthday wish list

Here it is, the inevitable birthday wishlist.
Yep, it’s my birthday on the 29th Jan – hooray!
I think I managed to keep it pretty minimal, right?
I didn’t do it on purpose but it ended up feeling quite clean.

Lately I’ve really been thinking more and more about quality items.
I’ve always loved high-end designer items, but I’m still quite practical.
I know I (and those around me) can’t always afford that kind of price.
With that said, I still think they are a good investment for most people.
I tend to use a handbag or watch etc for a few years if it’s good quality.
I also use my eyeshadow palettes until they either run out or go out of date.
I think it’s important, especially now as I think about getting older.
Wow, that got a bit too serious a bit too quick. Sorry!

I choose items that I will get a lot of use and wear out of.
I always take such care in the things I own, and I show them a lotta love.
I also appreciate the things I own and I don’t take them for granted.
I’m mega in love with all of these pieces and I hope you like them too.
Wanna know what they are, and where to buy them?

1. Moschino Letter Wrap Bracelet
2. Iseey Miyake Bao Bao Tote Bag
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs Truman Watch
4. Original Minerals ‘Maintain The Main’ Giftset
5. Jo Malone Sweet Almond & Macaroon Candle
6. Bobbi Brown Nude Eyeshadow Palette  (bought)
7. Deborah Lippmann Exfoliating Cuticle Remover Treatment
8. Trish Mcevoy Power of Brushes Collection

OOTD: Are We There Yet?

Rucksack – Lazy Oaf @ ASOS | Top: H&M | Leggings* – Oasap | Necklace – Marc by Marc Jacobs

If you hadn’t already guessed by the title, and the rucksack on my back, I’m off again! This weekend I’m back home to spend some time with my family before my sis returns to Hong Kong. I’m such an awkward traveller and I like to wear something super comfy, with minimal accessories.
I choose my Oasap leggings, as they’re soft and casual…and they always get compliments. Pairing those with my new H&M ‘très jolie’ top was an easy decision, being the Francophile that I am. I always wear my rings when travelling, but I dislike big necklaces so my Marc Jacobs one was an easy choice.
I also needed a new rucksack, as my last one disappeared into the gigantic hole that is beneath my bed. I needed something big, but I also wanted something fashionable – that’s where Lazy Oaf came in. Luckily for me ASOS have a great sale on Lazy Oaf items, even ones that are full price on the LO site! I picked the Betty Backpack as I’m a bit of a leopard print lover and it was perfect for what I wanted. The leopard print is soft and fluffy, and the little hands that tighten the backpack are an adorable feature.
I’m pretty pleased with my recent purchases and this travel outfit, if I do say so myself.

Photo Diary: Sunday in Shoreditch

Spending a Sunday afternoon in Shoreditch is one of my favourite things to do.
I love the vintage markets, world food stalls and street style of Brick Lane.
I love the smells, colours and the people who wander down Columbia Road.
It’s somewhere I always take people when they visit because it has such life.
Everywhere in Shoreditch has such atmosphere and effortless style.
If you aren’t a fan of London I suggest you visit these places and then decided again.
If you can’t make it to London anytime soon, hopefully my photos will help.
Locations/People in this photo diary include:
Hanni Bow, Brick Lane Coffee, Rough Trade East, Brick Lane Market & Columbia Road

The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag

A few days ago Danniella of Famous in Japan started the ‘The Blogger Made Me Buy It’ tag. This is all about those pesky (we love you really) bloggers who convince you to buy products etc. It could be beauty products (my weakness), clothing or even lifestyle items that you’ve read about. This tag lets you air all your dirty secrets and share your favourite blogger loves. I don’t usually ‘do tags’ but this is right down my street! So let’s get started then shall we?

1) Who are your most influential bloggers?
Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
My most influential bloggers have to be Ghostparties & The Sunday Girl.
These two lovely ladies are my go-to for beauty product reviews and swatches.
Their content and personalities shine way above the rest!

 2) Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers,
or do you look for more reviews from others?
It depends but it’s usually a bit of both. I might buy something I was interested in because it’s had a glowing review from one blogger, or I might end up buying something I wasn’t too sure about thanks to several good reviews.

 3) What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Evian facial spray – it started my massive on-going love affair with facial sprays.

 4) What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Hands down Baby Lips, a not so great product with a ridiculous amount of hype.
…and Glossybox, not really a product but it’s still overhyped.

 5) Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
1. La Roche Posay Serozinc
2. MUA Velvet Lip Laquer
3. Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lipbalm
4. New Look Cut-out Boots
5. Ciate Advent Calendar

 6) Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
As I mentioned above – Baby Lips!
I loved the idea, and the hype surrounding them was amazing.
I literally spent weeks trying to find them in stores across London.

 7) Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 & 3.
I loved the first one but the follow ups were basically the same thing.
There is very little difference between the palettes for such massive hype.

 8) Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews,
or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
If I don’t have time to look up a review for a product I will buy it without reading one.
That said, most of my purchases are made by looking up reviews or coming across them.

Photo Diary: New Years Eve Celebrations 2013

This New Year’s Eve I went back to a familiar and much loved spot.
I wasn’t in London again this NYE, but I was in Wales with the fiancé’s family.
We went back to The Checkers, somewhere we have visited several times before.
It’s an amazing restaurant, and is 1 of only 3 Michelin Star restaurants in Wales.
The menu this year was slightly different to last New Year’s Eve:
Of course it wasn’t any less delicious, and every mouthful was full of flavour.
I’m such a foodie that this was the perfect way for me to spend my NYE with friends & family.
Not only that but I think good food and wine really helps to bring people together.
There was plenty of bubbly, fun & giggles, and a good night was had by all.
How did you spend your New Year’s Eve?

OOTD: New Years Eve Travels

Dress – Topshop, Necklace – Topshop | Rings – Tatty Devine x Rob Ryan | Oliver Bonas

Technically this is still today’s outfit, since I wore it until around 2am. I found this world map print smock dress in the Topshop sale, such a bargain! Being a traveller I fell in love with the dress as soon as I saw it. Since the print is so prominent I paired it with some simple jewellery – a necklace & rings. The shape of the necklace just seemed to fit with the print on the dress perfectly.
I went out for a big meal on New Years Eve so it was important to be comfortable. Since this is a smock dress it’s super comfy and doesn’t cling at all – so it was perfect. Usually I don’t think smock dresses suit me, but this has changed my opinion completely. I think this may be the start of something new!
