Denim….

Sorry for the lack of updates over the past few days. I’ve been busy with lectures and the general stress of university lately haha.
I went shopping with some friends on Tuesday and picked up a couple of cute new items.
As you all already know, I’m not a big fan of the Western look this season. This said, I am always willing to incorporate new things into my style. Therefore I decided to at least give denim shirts a try, even if it’s just something simple (see below).
I also picked up a dress, which features roses, lace detail and a pleated bottom.
Some stores that are carrying off the denim shirt well are Duras (left) and Gilfy.
I’m leaning more towards the Duras coordinate, which I think is slightly better. I don’t like the idea of the denim shirt being the ‘whole’ outfit. Although Gilfy are working it with the belt and boots.
Hello….
Something Jenny said the other day made me realise that I don’t post enough pictures of…myself. I don’t like to whore myself out over this blog, but I think she was right when she said that it adds a more personal touch when bloggers post pictures of themselves – especially Gal bloggers.
So I guess I should start doing it more often…
Sorry about the heart but bad pout is bad. Looking at this picture really made me realise that I need to stop pairing my studded Ji.Maxx cardigan with everything…I just love it so much haha.
It was cold that day so the leopard print beret came out and at least took attention away from the mess that was my hair. The colouring of my hair on the picture is also very close to the irl version – thanks to the bf’s brilliant bathroom lighting.
My picture skills really suck at the moment, as I’m not a big fan of taking pictures of myself. Next time I’ll try to include better shots of outfits, make-up and hair.
Anyway, I apologise for the crappy entry today.
For those of you with Twitter, please feel free to add me (what’s with everyone taking bloomzy?) – I’m not a fan but I created one for the blog.

Spring/Summer ’10 collections….

I’m afraid post’s may be scarce this upcoming week, as I have to write a 20min presentation…in Japanese. I’ll still try to update though, and I hope you guys will still continue to read 😀
Mitsu has been great lately, posting the Spring/Summer ’10 collections for stores such as; duras, gilfy, spiral girl, ma*rs, lip service and many more. Check out the links at the top of her blog.
Staying with this trend I though I’d take a look at some of the other well known Gal brands and see what they have come up with.
Ji.Maxx
Floral, frills and denim seem to be the key looks in their 2010 Spring/Summer collection.
I wasn’t particularly impressed with anything I saw on the website, to be honest it all seemed a little LIZLISA-esque. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, it just seems like they’re going off course from what has made them popular in the past and instead taken the safe route. Here’s hoping they will bring out something a little more like the Ji.Maxx I know and love.
JSG
JSG are obviously avoiding the floral, cowgirl trend which was to be expected.
Instead they’re sticking with their usual logo tee’s, and over the top style. I’m not usually a fan of JSG as their clothing seems to be a little too bright – although the new items seem to be slightly less ‘funky’ than their usual stuff.
Between the two JSG is actually my favourite, which I found surprising. They’re new Spring/Summer items are fun, sexy and casual. I’m not a massive fan of the whole frills & floral look of Ji.Maxx, but even so I do love to see Gal’s carrying it off well – it really is the epitome of femininity.
Do you think Ji.Maxx carries off the Spring/Summer trend well?! Or do you prefer something a little less frilly, like JSG?!

Item post…

I’m afraid it’s a short but sweet update today, so here are a few items that have caught my eye recently.
Ever wondered what would happen if Dazzlin’ and Jelly’s Maichi collaborated?
Well here is your answer; Lace rompers. In pink and white with matching scruncies, these pieces are oh-so-cute. These have been in store since mid-January, and it’s likely they’ve already sold out but if anyone can get/has their hands on one, then you are a lucky Gal.
W♥C are putting out pieces from their Spring collection like there’s no tomorrow; Tshirts, blazers, skirts, shoes and even more. Every piece is as gorgeous as the next. My current favourites (still in stock, buy them now!!) are the new logo tee’s and the hot red skirt, which would look great paired with their new heels.
NOTE: A lot of their new items are working alongside the current ‘doubles’ trend by featuring t-shirts, skirts and more in different colours. So if you and your Gal pal’s like to coordinate together, W♥C is definitely your friend.
A special item for all you Gal’s in the UK. I popped into New Look yesterday and found this gorgeously Delyle inspired (even if they don’t know it ;D) t-shirt. I was even more surprised to see the Ji.Maxx style ribbon’s on the back. I snapped it up straight away and I’m pleased because it looks great paired with skinny jeans, lace shorts/skirt or just worn as an oversized t-shirt dress.

Tsubasa Masuwaka news….

A new photobook

Tsubasa recently blogged about another new photobook she has coming out. Entitled ‘Les Aisles’ it is based in Paris, with familiar landmarks and Parisian streets used as backdrops. Apparently there will also be a Q&A section.
The first 1000 people to buy the photobook will also receive a special edition ‘Les Aisles’ Dolly Wink eyelash case.
It costs 1575円 (with tax) and is released on the 26th February.
Candydoll
In other Tsubasa related news, the Candydoll website has a new layout celebrating the February 23rd release of the new highlighter and blusher colours. This includes new pictures of Tsu-chan showing off the ‘Carrot Orange Blush’ – which I think looks cute. Let’s hope it looks this lovely on everyone.
I admit I may have judged it too harshly before, but can you really blame me when it has carrot in the name ;D

Candydoll….

The ever lovable Tsubasa Masuwaka posted on her blog today, about 3 new products from the ‘Candydoll’ range. These include; finishing powder, highlighter and blusher.
The finishing powder and highlighter seem like your average powders but the blusher comes in a rather odd colour. Carrot Orange. Yep, you heard me right. There are no real pictures that show it off properly right now, but it seems a little hard to imagine…maybe it’s just the use of the word carrot haha.
I personally wasn’t a massive fan of the original baby pink blusher by ‘Candydoll’…at least not the way that Tsubasa wore it (I wear a similar shade, and I use it subtly). But it seemed to sell well, and Magazines such as Popteen raved about it…but then they would have to ;D
However, MAC do an orange in their ‘Cremeblend Blush’ range, and it has sold out of the online store.
So what do you guys think, could ‘Carrot Orange Blusher’ be the next big thing?

MA*RS….

Well I am back, but unfortunately I have been struck down with flu so I apologise if my post’s aren’t up to their usual standards over the next few days ;D
MA*RS
During my visit back home I couldn’t stop thinking about a recent post Mitsu had made about the new Spring/Summer collection by MA*RS. When I first saw the post, I was entranced by the sheer Gal-ness of it all. That might sound a bit odd, but with Gal going in so many directions right now, it was nice to see something that was unique and purely Gal.
Of course I wasn’t new to MA*RS (which you can usually see in magazines such as Ageha). I just hadn’t shown a keen interest in it…until now. With it’s mixture of pinks, blacks and lace it really is the epitome of Ero-Kawaii. However…
My style is slightly more ロック (a la Gilfy etc.) at the moment, but it reminded me of the way I used to dress a few years ago – when I first started at university. A bit girlier, and a lot sexier. Don’t get me wrong, the Rock look can be sexy just in a different way.
Anyway, I happened to pop into ZARA when I was back home – as the store in Norwich is a lot better to any I have come across near here (even Manchester). I don’t always shop at ZARA but some of the pieces caught my eye. For cute, affordable fashion it really is worth a look, especially as a lot of the new items are mirroring the Rock & Western looks that are showing up in Gal this season.
As I was browsing I came across some lace shorts, made to look like a skirt when worn…skorts haha. For me, this was perfect as I adore sexy, lacey short skirts, but I don’t love the chance of them blowing up so much – this is a real problem living in England during Winter haha. They immediately jumped out at me, as maybe this was the revival of my love for a sexier Gal.
I am currently planning coordinates (I constantly do this when I see/buy an item) and thinking about how I can incorporate these into my look. So you can expect some more MA*RS themed posts in the future ;D
I haven’t forgotten about what YOU have been asking for though.
The general consensus at the moment, seems to be;
  • Coordinates (from magazines, model’s etc.)
  • Shibuya 109 News (stores, trends etc.)
  • Update’s on Model’s (Jelly, Ageha etc.), more specifically from their blogs.
I will get round to doing more posts like this, just as soon as I am feeling a little better.
If you haven’t already left feedback about what you would like to see more of, please do so in the post below.
