Your opinions….

As I am away for the weekend and would like to hear feedback from you guys, I’m going to ask what kind of posts you would like to see here;
  • Coordinates (from magazines, model’s etc.)
  • Shibuya 109 News (stores, trends etc.)
  • Make-up/Hair (reviews of products, tutorials etc.)
  • Update’s on Model’s (Jelly, Ageha etc.), more specifically from their blogs.
  • Other (please comment and let me know)
These are just a few idea’s, but I really want this blog to be more about what’s currently going on with Gal, than just me posting my coordinates all the time – I know you don’t want to be stuck looking at those constantly.
So please comment, your feedback is important to me 😀

Birthday presents…

As the picture and the title of this post would suggest, I thought I would bore you all and show you what I received for my Birthday…more specifically, from my boyfriend.
My birthday actually also happens to fall on the same day as our anniversary – and last Friday also happened to be our 1 year anniversary, haha. Therefore I was treated extra special.
I was taken out on Saturday, and told to pick out something for our anniversary. He had mentioned rings, because he knew I had wanted another one. I am a swarovski addict, from the crystals to the jewellery – I can’t get enough!! So I ended up picking out this gorgeous little number to the left. It has a row of larger crystals on top and 2 rows of smaller crystals along the side. It also has hearts engraved on the inside – the perfect ring ;D
As for my birthday presents, well I was very lucky and he bought me those early, whilst we were in Tokyo.
I picked this dress out from the little known store ‘Anthony’s’ hidden away on Shibuya 109’s B2. It is grey and black striped, with stud detailing and is made from a Cashmere-esque material.
I personally love this store, albeit tiny and slightly cramped. They offer a variety of t-shirt’s, dresses etc. and brand goods, such as Chanel and Gucci. Although they are probably best known for their selection of Pet wear & goods.
The store clerk was lovely and kept complimenting my Japanese. She was also really interested to find out where I was from, and laughed when I dragged my boyfriend in to pay for the dress. She seemed to understand what was going on ;D lol
The other item I picked out in Tokyo, were these gorgeous boots. I had seen Gal’s dotted around Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku sporting these during our stay. To start with I wasn’t really that interested in them, because the majority seemed a little too ‘girly-girl’ for me. But then I saw a girl wearing these with a Gilfy ensemble, and the rest is history. A lot of the cheaper stores had versions for around 3,000円 but they weren’t great quality and didn’t have the laces. I ended up in Harajuku’s, La Foret (I missed you Sami, my shopping companion!! haha), and found the above pair in 「エフエー コレクション」 a cute shoe store on the 5F.
They offer a variety of shoes, and accessories. The store clerks were fashionable and very knowledgeable. I have had problems with Japanese shoes in the past, even though I’m only a tiny UK4, therefore I voiced my concerns to the store clerk but she was very helpful. And all for a reasonable 6,000円.
I won’t be updating this weekend, as I am visiting my family back home – late Birthday presents yay~!! But I promise my next update will be a lot more Gal specific, and a lot less about myself haha.

Birthday Coordinates…

Hey guys, sorry for my absence over the weekend. It was my birthday on Friday, and therefore I spent the weekend with friends. I was then wined and dined by my lovely boyfriend, and then taken shopping – but we’ll save that for another post.

On Friday, after early morning Japanese lectures I prepared myself for an evening out on the town. I decided to wear my ‘fast fashion’ (keep your eyes out for an upcoming entry!!) onepiece. I bought this from ドン キホーテ in Tokyo and paired it with leather-look leggings and some monotone pearls (which you can see on the left) – so glad these are back in at the moment.

I was basing my look around one that JELLY model, Maya Mori recently wore to an event @ Atom. Apart from the print, these two onepieces are basically the same, and although I am a label whore, in this instance I was happier with the cheaper version.
When I originally walked into the GLAD NEWS store in 109 (sorry I can’t find an image of the onepiece), the first thing I was confronted with was their original version of this dress. The belt (stud detailing and all), shape and style were all the same – but they had chosen a newspaper print. It was nice, and it complimented their style but it wasn’t me. However I do love Maya’s skull & lip print, and would gladly take it off her hands lol.
Comparison of the onepieces;
Each time I step into ドン キホーテ I feel almost as if it were a guilty pleasure. In-between some of the many items they sell you can find Gal style clothing, shoes, accessories and make-up for low prices.
This was my first time buying clothing from Donki, and although this onepiece is gorgeous and good quality, I still feel as though I got lucky. The jacket that came with the set was cute and fit well, but it was made for girls with skinny arms (luckily my fat doesn’t touch there lol) and I didn’t even bother touching the leggings that came with it as they were far too short and were made from cheap material. Therefore I paired the onepiece with a better quality blazer and leggings that I bought after.
Even with my complaints, overall I am happy with the onepiece itself and everyone was complimenting me on it so I can’t really ask for any more.
I hope you guys like the outfit, and I hope I did Maya’s coordinates justice, haha.

Chinatsu Wakatsuki’s new hairstyle….

Chinatsu Wakatsuki, founder of the new 109 store ‘W♥C’ updated her blog today talking about a recent visit to Osaka to meet with some people concerning the store. Whilst she was there she popped into ‘VIRGO‘ and came out with a shocking new hairstyle. Partially shaved down the side with the letter’s BB (Big Bang) also shaved into her hair.
For now it looks like she could cover this with the top layer of hair, but it still came as a surprise when I glanced at her blog.
About the Gal…
I will admit, I am another one of the many out there currently jumping on the 千夏Bandwagon. But can you really blame me? The girl is cute, sexy, she has talent, attitude and a whole lot of personality. One of the main reasons I admire her, is because of her fashion sense – that includes her hairstyles. I have yet to see her wearing an outfit I don’t like (let’s not count her days as a Gravure idol lol).
Her style is so refreshing as are the items that can be found in ‘W♥C’, but I was really taken aback by this sudden change. I personally wouldn’t be able to rock the partially shaved head, but I have seen plenty of girls who can.
Of course Gal doesn’t always have to be about long flowing hair, with volume and big puffy curls. I personally like the shorter haircuts or the rock/punk inspired looks that are becoming more popular lately – it’s nice to see a change and a little variety.
Maybe Chinatsu will end up starting a new trend?
She does seem to be one of the current ‘it’ girls right now. Either way it just seems temporary on her part and I’m afraid this look just isn’t for me. Although I am interested to see how she will work it.
So what do you guys think?
Can you be Gal and do something so extreme?

Edit; Thanks to Mitsu who mentioned that this is now becoming more popular with the 109 W♥C staff. Looks like Chinatsu certainly has started something ;D

What were they thinking?

「What were they thinking?」

I don’t like to hate, but sometimes something in Gal comes along and makes me wonder – WHY?! Of course this happens in every fashion circle, but this blog is dedicated to Gal…so we’ll just stick with that for now ;D

This time round the culprit is ‘MITSUMARU’S HEAVEN and EARTH’, which can be found on 109’s 1st floor. A mixture of sexy and feminine, it boasts top sales. So why then did I find this on EGG’s outlet store:

Yes, that is an upside down skirt. Ok, so it isn’t particularly hideous but really…is that the best they could come up with? It’s no wonder I found it on an outlet store – which can have some great items, but also the kind of stock that makes you think it’s only there because it won’t sell instore or on the official site.

Luckily I haven’t seen this anywhere else, so it’s unlikely it’s a new trend. Here’s hoping it’s just last season’s remnants.

Deco…

★Deco★
If you’re familiar with Gal then it’s almost impossible to ignore the phenomenon that is デコーデン, more commonly known as just ‘Deco’. Of course Deco is not only limited to Gal. In fact the majority of Japan’s female population (and even a few male’s ;D) love it.
My strangest encounter with Deco was on the Ginza line, in Tokyo. As we stopped at a station, an older woman, who I guessed was in her late fifties boarded the tube with a fully decorated cellphone proudly hanging around her neck. Of course there’s no reason for her not to have one, but it just goes to show how popular Deco has become.
Deco goes so much further than just cellphone’s and camera’s. A great example can be seen on Mitsu’s blog, ‘Universal Doll’. From make-up brushes to…a bike!! The girl certainly has talent, and a whole lot of patience lol
I have Deco’d in the past, always using simple techniques with plain coloured crystals. But now, I have a new cellphone and I am hoping for a little advice from you guys. THIS is my new phone (albeit temporary, until I move to Japan this Summer). It is only slightly bigger than the palm of my hand and I love the sleek black exterior, but I feel like it could do with something more.
So I’m asking for advice, or idea’s.
Let me know what YOU think…
