Wish List: Topshop & Regal Rose

Topshop 2

Regal Rose
Regal Rose by bloomzy featuring green jewelry

Just a couple of Wishlists, this time from specific stores; Topshop & Regal Rose
I think the Topshop wishlist proves that I do like colours other than black, I just need to take the plunge and actually add them to my wardrobe. Maybe this Summer will be different!
I definitely can’t live without the bralets & studded sweater. I think I’ll have to make a trip to Manchester next month to check out the Topshop there as the one here didn’t have any of them.

The Regal Rose pieces are items I’ve been lusting after for a while.
I love their store, and I know I would get good wear out of their jewellery.
I haven’t ordered from them before, and their prices aren’t bad, I just worry about quality.
That said I’ve only heard good things about them, so maybe I should just go for it.

Photo Diary; Adventures in the World of Amélie

Café les Deux Moulins, Montmatre, Paris

On one particular day during my time in Paris, the fiancé indulged me and we went to Montmatre.
That’s a pretty normal tourist thing to do in Paris, I hear you say. Well yes it is, but as some of you may know by now I am a bit of a Francophile, and my favourite movie is Amélie. Sooo you may be catching on that we went to Montmatre to…visit the places used whilst filming Amélie.
I took a lot of photos around the locations in Montmatre during that day.
So I choose to post these ones first. Probably the most iconic location in AmélieCafé les Deux Moulins.
This is where they filmed the scenes of Amélie and her friends at work, where she choose to eat her favourite creme brulee, and where several of the major storylines take place. I always remember Amélie staring at Nino through the glass screen longingly as she wrote the day’s specials ♥
The cafe itself, is a lot smaller than it looks in the movie. Nor does the front of the cafe look the same as in the movie, and it isn’t in the location they filmed the outside from, so be careful as you could easily walk by and miss it!
Tables and bar stools take up most of the space, which is filled with tourists (mainly Japanese) and the odd local.
The bar & toilets have been kept the same as in the movie, whilst bits of memorabilia are dotted everywhere.
Our waiter was hilarious. He laughed and helped us with our pronunciation and chatted with me about Amélie and my love of Macarons. He even tried to get a kiss from the Japanese girls beside us, but the cultural barriers were just too strong.
If money isn’t an issue I would suggest grabbing a bite to eat, so you can soak up the atmosphere.
I had a salad, white wine and macarons for dessert, whilst the fiancé had a burger and beer.
At €40+ this is expensive, even for Paris, and it’s obvious the little cafe is cashing in, especially as the food is average.
However I had been waiting for this for a long time and the atmosphere was wonderful so I didn’t mind at all.
Trivia: For other Amélie fans out there, remember the scene where Nino finds all the ‘Ou et quand?’ posters?
That was my metro station! La Motte-Picqet-Grenelle, located in central Paris, a 10min walk from the Eiffel Tower.
It’s a small world.

Review: Trilogy Exfoliant & Apricot Face Mask

Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant & My Beauty Diary Southern France Apricot Mask

I decided to review these two items together, as they are both new additions to my skin care routine and
are also two products that compliment each other well.
Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant
Purchase it here

I use this twice a week, in the evening after my skin care routine.
I love the texture of the product; it feels a little grainy to touch, but when applied it’s quite satisfying to feel the Jojoba wax spheres work their magic on your skin, as you massage the treatment in.
It leaves a pleasant smell on your skin, which reminds me a bit of oats.
After several weeks of use, I would definitely say my skin is feeling smoother and more radiant. A little goes a long way with this product, so I think it will last me for quite a while. My only criticism would be that it dried my skin out a little, but I wouldn’t suggest using an exfoliant without a moisturiser of some kind anyway.

I’ve only been using these for a week, but so far so good.
These are sheet masks that cover your whole face. You leave the mask on for about 20-30mins, and just sit back and relax. The masks are incredibly cool and really are relaxing to wear, and smell amazing! Afterwards it’s best to massage in any remaining serum. I use this after I have exfoliated and I must say the moisturising effect is amazing. My skin felt so supple and soft after only the first use, which surprised me as I don’t usually expect to see a difference straight away with most skin care products. This mask is suitable for normal to dry / combination skin.
No criticisms really, except that the mask is pretty big so you will need to make sure it is securely on.
Finally, here’s a scary picture of me in my mask after exfoliating:

OOTD: Back to Black

(Top; bought in Kyoto – eBay, Shorts; H&M, Tights; Alta, Shinjuku, Shoes; ASOS, Accessories; Topshop)

As the title says, I’m back to wearing black. I was doing so well! I guess it’s true when they say, old habits die hard.
At least I’m wearing red on my lips. By the way, the ‘kissing photo’ was actually due to the fiancé. He took my photos this time (rather than me and a tripod), and he told me to mess around a bit.
I’m so quirky and original!
The top I bought in my last few days in Japan before I moved back to England. It was from a small store in Kyoto, but a few months ago I found the exact same one from an English eBay seller – pretty cool. I included a link in the description under the photo. It’s just a pretty cool shirt in general actually.  The skull is made up of famous last words such as: “Shoot Coward! You are only going to kill a man” – Che Guevara

My favourite part of the top has to be the chains and holes across the back and shoulders though. I was going for a fun, rock-ish vibe and I think it suits that well. I think it would have looked better if I had been able to get the tights to actually sit straight – one of my peeves when it comes to hosiery.
Finally, do you like the haircut? Nothing new, but it needed a trim.

Photo Diary: The Breakfast Club, London

The Breakfast Club, Hoxton, London

Whilst I was in London, the fiancé’s sister (who very kindly put us up for the weekend, thank you) decided to take us for breakfast in The Breakfast Club. I hadn’t been before, so the whole experience was wonderful.
It reminded me a lot of the places I had gone to for breakfast in America. The menu was packed full of a variety of amazing dishes, whilst the ‘smallest disco in the world‘ in the toilets, acted as entertainment. Like the ‘Fraggle Rock’ wallpaper? I did.
The 3 of us all choose very different breakfasts:
The fiancé – Breakfast Burrito, his sister – french toast with chunks of apple and eggy bread, and finally me – The All-American. I allowed myself to forget about my diet that weekend, and I’m so glad I did
The All-American was like the breakfast I remembered having when I was 16, on my first trip to America to visit my family. Tasty and filling; I didn’t eat until dinner!
We left around 12, and the queue outside was massive!
It’s a popular place, so if you do decide to visit then you should probably do it before the rush.
They always say Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and if you’re starting it at TBC you really can’t go wrong!

The Big Pink Box!

A few days ago I received a rather cryptic email, telling me to look out for a big pink box in the post.
This had me very intrigued, and when the fiancé came back today with a big parcel in hand, I hastily unwrapped it!
 What was inside?
Now recently I’ve become a bit of a health-nut; I watch what I eat, I take vitamins everyday and I try to use only natural hair/skin products. I’m working toward a healthier me for 2012!! So you can imagine my joy when I found these items inside. Even better was the fact that I’ve been considering buying half of these products myself!
Coconut Oil, Argan Oil and Manuka Honey products are making big waves in the beauty-sphere right now.
I’ve been contemplating using Argan and Coconut Oil a lot recently, but never really went for it.
Obviously I have no excuse not to now! Look out for reviews soon!
The package also came with a Holland and Barrett rewards card, which is such a coincidence as I signed up for one last week – I’m addicted to rewards cards! As I couldn’t use this one, I signed the fiancé up in my place! Sharing the love.

Check out my images of the products below
They may not look like the most exciting products, but I’m really looking forward to testing these!
If you love health/beauty supplements and natural products you’ll understand my joy.
Disclaimer: These items were sent to me by the lovely people at Pegasus PRHowever, I have not been paid for this post nor is this an advert for Holland & Barrett. I was genuinely happy with all these products and I choose to feature them as they are items I would happily have purchased myself.

Iconemesis; Fifi Lapin iPhone Case

Fifi is such a sassy fashionista! Do you remember the post I made introducing Fifi Lapin? Well since then the item I ordered arrived! I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted a Fifi Fawn iPhone case. So I did a google, and up popped iconemesis; an online store that combines artwork and iPhone cases. The artwork featured is amazing, and I must admit that I wanted to buy all of the cases! Instead I settled for just one, this Fifi Fawn case.

There was a bit of trouble with my order, as the case I received didn’t quite match the image on the site. So I contacted the lovely staff at iconemesis and they kindly sent me out another. The reason behind the confusion was that they have a new template for this particular phone, and the site hasn’t been updated with the new image yet. There’s not much difference, the new image is just a bit smaller. Here is a photo of the case I was originally sent.

The customer service I received was brilliant. I even received emails (keeping me up-to-date) way out of office hours. I really appreciated the efficiency (it was made and sent the next day) and kindness of the staff. I would definitely order from them again! Now I just need to decide which case…

You can order the Fifi Fawn case here.
Or you can browse the rest of their cases here.
