OOTD: Denim Lady

(Denim Shirt: Primark, Dress: Topshop, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Accessories: Topshop & Urban Outfitters)

On Saturday I went for coffee and brunch with my younger sister, and then to a surprise party.
Since one of the events was casual, and the other a bit more dressy, I decided to put together an outfit that would fit both occassions but not look odd at either. Well, I think I accomplished that – I wore my tiered lace dress (dressy) and paired it with a denim shirt (casual), and some hipster-esque accessories.
I hope you’re enjoying the more ‘commercial’ photo on the left.
I picked up some delicious special bread from the deli (thanks Toni & Gaby) and had to pose with it.
I know, I know, don’t give up the day job – the bread may outshine me but it had to be done.
Also, as a bonus – a make-up shot!
I don’t often include them but I also wanted to show off the earrings a bit more.
A few people on Instagram shared their love for them – they’re from Urban Outfitters.

OOTD: Holiday in Provence, France 2

(T-shirt, Shorts & Sandals: Topshop, Bag: Primark, Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sunglasses: New Look)

Here is the second helping of my outfit shots from my recent holiday.
This time taken in a wonderful small village in the mountains, outside a lovely restaurant we actually ended up going to a few days later. I loved the look of the place so I wanted to do a quick outfit shot in front of it.
Obviously this was a casual outfit, just something comfortable for a day of walking, browsing markets and sipping on decafe espressos. I wore my favourite grey t-shirt…ok I only have one, but if I did have more this would be my favourite because the material is wonderfully comfortable, soft and light. I also paired it with my Marc by Marc Jacobs wishbone necklace, which is just the right amount of ‘rock’ without taking too much from the outfit.
I look so teeny-tiny on these photos, and as much as I would like to think it’s a combination of the slope I’m standing on and the fiance’s height, lets just face it, I’m a shorty.

Apologies for the quality of the above photos, these were taken on my iPhone not camera.

Recent Fashion ‘Haul’

(Underwear & Sandals: Topshop, Blouse: Internacionale, T-shirt: Zara)

I thought I might share with you some of the fashion items I’ve been buying recently.
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of these in my outfit shots from my holiday as that is why I bought most of them…except for the underwear, be surprised if you see those. To be honest I’d be surprised too.
Apart from a few poor pairs that I’ve bought in the past, Topshop underwear has to be my favourite.
I’m so picky about patterns and shapes etc. that I find it difficult to actually find underwear that matches what I am looking for. Topshop never fails to please in this aspect though. I always end up buying one in each type and pattern. I just wish they did matching bras in my size, but I don’t think that will ever be a reality in Topshop.
I also like their shoes, as they’re always pretty, although sometimes overpriced – luckily I grabbed these sandals in the sale for only £15. It may not be sandal weather in England right now, but hopefully it will be whilst I am away on holiday.
Finally I picked up the blouse from the Internacionale sale, and the Zara top from their sale. The Zara top was actually to replace a very similar one that the fiancé bought me in Paris, that I accidentally ruined. The blouse was because I was drawn to the colour, buttons and the cut-out shoulders. It’s incredibly sheer though, so I’ll have to figure that out.
It’s just a shame that I probably won’t get much use out of the blouse and sandals when I return.
Unless the weather changes dramatically that is, not that I would complain!

Wish List: H&M and Topshop

Top row: H&M, Bottom row: Topshop

I haven’t done a wishlist for a little while, which is surprising because I’m sure I always have one in mind.
Anyway, this time I decided to feature two stores that I have been impressed with recently, one being H&M, the other Topshop. Now in the last few years I’ve pretty much always been a ‘fan’ of Topshop – they’re constantly bringing out pieces I can’t wait to add to my collection. However, I’ve found that my love for H&M in recent months has faded slightly.
It’s sad to say, but the stores I’ve been visiting just haven’t won me over with their collections.
However I was pleasantly surprised when I went into the Norwich H&M recently. They are back on form!
As for the wishlist itself this time I picked items that I can definitely see in my wardrobe, rather than those I just wish I could add to it. So these are all items that are reasonably priced, which I could coordinate easily.
The ‘Peplum’ trend looks like it will be going through to A/W and I’m pleased as it’s a cute, flattering shape. I’m also enjoying bursts of colour (love that royal blue!) to help brighten up an outfit. The rest are all just items that I want to play around with – especially the Mary Janes, and the denim shorts with suspenders attached.
I hope I can hurry up and get a job asap so I can BUY ALL THE CLOTHES!

OOTD: Leopard print creepers

(Sweater: Bought in Japan, Dress: Topshop, Tights: Primark, Shoes: Oasap*, Necklace: Topshop)

I’ve been waiting to post an outfit with these shoes.
These are Oasap‘s version of the popular underground creeper shoe.
I’ve wanted a pair of creepers (especially the new wedge ver) for a while, but can’t justify the money.
The quality isn’t as good as the Underground version, but then I don’t think anyone would expect it to be.
So until I convince myself to save the money for some, these will have to do, and they’re not a bad substitute.
As you can see I’ve gone back to black, once again because of the poor weather.
I did feel like the heart print tights cheered the outfit up and made it stand out a little bit more.
Thankfully I am off on holiday next week, so I am hoping I will be able to get the shorts and bright colours out again!

OOTD: Orange & Gold

(Cardigan: ARK, Top: Topshop, Shorts: Topshop, Necklace: Oasap, Earrings: Topshop)

Here is a rather more ‘Summery’ outfit for you.
I’ve been enjoying the recent heatwave that hit home, even though it didn’t last for long.
Even so, I managed to get away with just wearing this lovely peachy-orange cardigan with no coat!
I think those that know how unpredictable the weather has been in England lately will know that’s quite a feat!
This cardigan is one of those items that lifts your mood whenever you wear it.
It just feels and looks like Summer to me, so I guess that’s why it caught my eye.
I felt that this outfit was a bit basic when I was putting it together, but I think the cardigan & necklace add a little something extra that I wouldn’t have got with just the top & shorts alone. Surprisingly orange & gold are growing on me!
ARK Clothing have become a quick favourite of mine.
I can not step into the Norwich store without wanting to leave without one of everything.
Their items are on-trend and fun! I would seriously recommend them for quality and price too.

OOTD: Formal Floral

(Blouse: H&M, Dress: Primark, Earrings: Topshop)

As some of you may know through my Twitter, I am currently in Wales staying with the fiancé.
Well unfortunately the weather hasn’t been wonderful so I’ve reverted back to my old ways.
That means black on black, with black tights. To think, I was doing so well!
Anyway, this outfit was for a dinner event we were invited to last night.
It wasn’t anything too formal, but I felt the need to wear something slightly demure for the occasion.
The blouse is sheer, so I popped one of my little black dresses underneath, so I wasn’t flashing everyone.
On other occasions that would have been fine, but I decided otherwise for this one.
I really love the print on this top, it’s so beautiful and the colours just pop!
The faux-leather collar adds a little something extra to the look so you can easily dress it up or down.
As for the dress…well it was awkward as I had to keep adjusting it so it wouldn’t crease. I hate that material.
So what do you think? Did I manage to look presentable?
