OOTD: Black & Red

(Hat: Topshop, Jacket: Primark, Top: Pull & Bear, Skirt: Topshop, Tights: Primark)

This weekend was all about the hair!
I re-dyed it with my favourite Colour Restore for Redheads, if you hadn’t guessed.
My hair is actually brighter than when I first had it done at the salon with this stuff.
Anyway, I love it and I wanted to show it all off.
Without even thinking about it I unknowingly matched my tights to my hair.
Looking at the photos now though, I love the contrast at the top and bottom.
Even with my clothes being black it meant I could still stand out, thanks to my hair.
I wrapped up in layers to take the fiancé for a post-Valentine’s Day lunch at one of our favourite spots.
I guess I did look very Valentine-y decked out in red, not that it was intentional at all.
I also wanted to dress to impress as I was meeting with some wonderful people – more on that later.
What do you all think of the new bright hair?

OOTD: Green with Envy

(Shirt: The Lazy Ones, Skirt: Miss Selfridge, Necklace: Tatty Devine)

I decided to go all green for my birthday meal last night.
I was joined by some lovely friends, some of whom included Randa, Dodo, Emmie and of course, the fiancé.
We headed to The Hawksmoor as I’d heard good things, and we fancied some tasty meat.
The food and atmosphere was amazing, and our waiter was lovely.
I felt like letting my classy side out for the event…it does exist, I promise you.
So I went with this gorgeous shirt, which I picked up from The Lazy Ones on Brick Lane.
I absolutely loved the detailing and colour of the shirt, so much that I bought it in two colours!
TLO is probably one of my favourite stores right now, as I always manage to find something there.
I paired the shirt with my new Tatty Devine necklace, another birthday gift, from family.
I really loved this outfit and I think it was all made by this shirt.

OOTD: Life in Colour

(Top: ASOS, Trousers: H&M, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Earrings: Accessorize, Lipstick: Chanel)
Today’s OOTD marks the beginning of my birthday celebrations.
It may not be my birthday until Tuesday, but my family are visiting this weekend.
That means a mini shopping spree and an excuse to go eat out at some of my favourite places.
I also decided to try out a different kind of layout for my outfit posts today.
This way seemed more appealing to me and I also liked being able to include a bit more detail.
I think the trousers may have inspired my need for more detail because they are so amazingly gorgeous!
I grabbed them in H&M’s January sales, and it was love at first sight. I just love the patterns and colours.
They also went well with my new badass (faux)leather sleeve top from ASOS, which I also got in the sales.
I’d been after the top for a while and I’m so glad I waited as I got it for less than half price!
What do you think of the new ootd post layout?

OOTD: Paris Calling

(Sweater: Oasap*, Skirt: Topshop, Tights: Primark, Shoes: Internacionale)

I love my Sweaters, you all know that by now.
So please welcome the latest edition to my collection.
No it’s not a gawdy tourist sweater – although those can be classy when rocked by the right person.
It’s actually the latest item sent to me by Oasap. I picked it because it looked cozy, and reminded me of my ‘Céline’ tee.
Obviously that’s the point of this particular design, and I kind of love it for that…and because it’s so comfy.
I’ve been trying to add little pops of colour to my outfits, just here and there.
It’s difficult some days as I have to be up early, and snow + early mornings = lazy Emma.
I have been trying for a while to get out of the habit of black on black, so I don’t think I’ve done too bad here.
At least the sweater is grey, and hey! check out those burgundy tights.
At least I tried.

OOTD: Catch-up

OOTD shots from my Instagram: bloomzy

Lately I don’t have much time to take full on OOTD shots.
So when I do get the chance I try to post a few on my Instagram.
Unfortunately Instagram doesn’t give me as much freedom when taking photos.
That’s mainly due to size restrictions, lighting etc. but I try to make do with what I have.
In the end I think the photos always turn out ok, and it’s a nice way to share them with everyone.
Recently I’ve been keeping warm as it’s been super cold, and of course we’ve had snow.
I love the current ‘Typo T-shirt’ trend so I’ve been pulling out some of my fave pieces from my wardrobe.
I’ve also been making the most of the cold weather by wrapping up in mixed fabric jumpers and cosy cardigans.
My favourite jumper right now is from Whistles (bottom right).
My favourite t-shirt, Topshop (middle left).
Thank for all your feedback in my giveaway post.
It seems that you do love my OOTD posts, so I promise to keep that in mind!

OOTD: Velvet Galore

(Hat: Topshop, Tshirt: Oasap*, Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Primark, Accessories: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

I’ve been after a velvet skater skirt for months!
My bestie even went searching for me for Christmas.
However I’ve not had much luck… that is, until now!
I spotted this one in the Urban Outfitters post-Christmas sale for only £10.
It comes in 3 different colours but I went for red wine, although I wish I’d bought one in every colour!
The rest of the items you probably remember as they’ve been featured before in previous OOTD posts.
Even so they’re items that I love but haven’t worn in awhile, therefore I decided to pop these all together.
I don’t feel so bad buying items in the sales this year as my washing machine broke this weekend.
I’m thinking of asking my landlord if he can just continue to buy me new items rather than a new washing machine.
Oh well, a girl can always dream!

Photo Diary: New Years Eve Celebrations 2012

Food and fun on New Years Eve
I saw 2012 out in a Michelin Star restaurant in Wales, with my fiancé, friends and family.
It was lovely to have a small getaway to the countryside, somewhere I always feel I can relax.
I wore my Pussycat London dress and accessorised with a Tatty Devine necklace, rings from Whistles, Swarovski and Beaverbrooks, as well as a 1930s vintage bag from India – a Christmas present from the fiancé’s family.
I also matched my nails to my accessories with some red polish and glitter.
Of course being a foodie meant that I was also rather excited to spend my NYE in an amazing restaurant.
We have been several times to the French restaurant, and the food never disappoints.

Our menu on New Years Eve consisted of 7 courses:
Kir Royale & Canapés
Soufflé Suisse with apple & almond salad
Seared scallop with crab cannelloni, sauce vierge & Jerusalem artichoke puree
Fillet of Celtic Pride beef wellington, pomme fondant, celeriac puree & red win jus
Selection of desserts
Selection of French & Welsh cheeses
Coffee & Petit fours
– – –
We finished around 11:50pm, when we then left to head outside to the town square.
I said hello to 2013 with over a hundred people, holding hands in a circle.
Of course I also had a quick kiss with the fiancé too.
How did you spend your New Years Eve?
