Wish List: Best of British

Best of British

Best of British by bloomzy Ok so I may not be a Royalist, and I won’t be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee…
However I am proud to be British, and I do like limited edition, special occasion items.
I’ve been gazing through windows at the decorations in stores, and the items they’re offering.
So I thought since it’s the Jubilee weekend, I would do an extra special wishlist!

With all the current hype around the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, tons of brands have been bringing out limited edition items to celebrate the occasion. This means lots of British brands are showing how proud they are, although that hasn’t stopped a lot of non-British brands also having some fun. Hey, it’s a party & everyone is invited!

The items I choose for this wishlist are items I would happily buy/wear any time of the year!
I love the selection of items, from Union Flag cupcake decorations to red, white & blue nail polish.
Although the Markus Lupfer’ Crown Sweater, the ‘Not for Ponies’ Corgi T-shirt & the ‘Nails Inc’ Jubilee Crystal Colour Polish have to be my favourites…Oh who am I kidding? I want everything!!

Current Inspiration

Please excuse the mess that is me piling a bunch of photos together.
I just wanted to visualise some of my current inspirations, which are:
Girly mixed with boyish, patterned tights, flowers, bright colours, gradients, feminine lingerie,
monochrome, black on black, gold, pearls and studs, polka dots, orange & white,
stiletto nails, comfy t-shirts, petals, purple, brightly coloured food and pastels.
As you can see my inspirations don’t just come from fashion or beauty. Of course when I say inspiration it doesn’t necessarily mean fashion-wise. I love surrounding myself with things that inspire me, and I think that does ultimately translate into my personal style, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t take inspiration for other aspects of my life.
These images are not mine, and were taken from my Tumblr, Style Saint & Pinterest.
Feel free to add me on any or all.

Photo Diary: Life in general

Personalised easter egg, foxes hanging in a hotel bar, the diet of a Coeliac,
odd pig statue, dissertation was finally handed in, so shopping ban was lifted,
fringe was in need of a cut, business cards were made for the blog, matching nails & trousers,
parents (&dog) came to visit, hot chocolate with everything on top, and my favourite chocolate shop in Kendal.

As the ‘Instagram Weekly’ posts I did kinda fizzled out, I haven’t really posted anything since, unless you check out the sidebar widget I have. So I thought I would post some pictures from the last few weeks, just in case some of you are still interested in my boring life…and if you are, thank you.

OOTD: Feeling Floral

Dress: Primark | Wedges: Internacionale | Necklace: Swarovski | Bracelet: Internacionale

Techinally this was yesterdays outfit, but then I went and made that Graze post and forgot. Sorry about that! Here’s hoping the floral print on this dress has distracted you enough to forgive me.

Now, Nails! Lots of people on Twitter & Instagram mentioned my nails. Lots of you complimented the shade, thank you, and some wanted to know where it was from. Well it’s this polish that I previously reviewed. It’s honestly one of my favourites. The coverage is amazing, as is the application and the amount you get in the bottle. You can buy it here (so cheap, and free shipping) and use my discount code to receive 10% off: BLOOMZYK31

It should also be mentioned that in my last OOTD post I mentioned that I wanted to wear more colours. I guess this was my way of doing that, whilst still keeping some black elements.

OOTD: Well kinda…

Lipstick: Chanel | Earrings: Topshop | Ring: Primark
I do apologise, but there won’t be an outfit of the day, today. I fell over in the road, on my way to lecture and I’ve hurt my leg and hip. My knee has also swollen up, so you can probably tell that I’m not really feeling at my best right now.
I did however take this photo of my make-up and jewellery this morning. I really love these earrings by Topshop and my favourite Rouge Coco lipstick, by Chanel. All topped off with an overly decadent ring from Primark.

A Source of Inspiration

You can find me on Tumblr, here
I feel you can usually read my current style from what’s on my Tumblr.
Ever since I started my Tumblr it has been a place for me to store & share my loves & inspirations.
I don’t do it for followers, although I adore the ones I do have, I do it for me.
Simply put, it’s a visual fashion/lifestyle diary, and I love it.
Where do you store your inspiration?

Review: MUA Love Hearts Nail Polish

MUA Love Hearts Collection; U & I, I <3 U Nail Polishes

Recently I ordered some of the new MUA Love Heart Collection Nail Polishes, as I couldn’t find them in a nearby Superdrug store. I only bought two from the collection though as I found the other 4 were very similar to shades that I already owned from Barry M.Pros:
+ Only £2!
+ Almost opaque after one coat.
+ Lovely shades that are true to colour.
+ Nice thick polish, with a lovely glossy finish.
+ Bright & Pastel colours that are perfect for this season.

Cons:
– The brush on the yellow wasn’t very good quality, so the application was difficult (as you can see in the photo) but I think I was just unlucky and this was a one-off.

Notes:
I really can’t express how much I love the pink-nude colour. It applied perfectly, with a gorgeous opaque, glossy finish after only two coats. That might sound normal, but for a nail polish that only costs £2, this was as good as any of my Barry M ones I own.

I would like to also mention the lovely people at MUA Cosmetics.
There was a problem with my order being dispatched and no dispatch email was sent but the lovely people who emailed me kept me up-to-date and informed. Thank you!

You can purchase the whole collection here.
