Tonic 15 x Suitcase The Carry On K-Beauty Kit (Worth £143)

My love affair with the Tonic 15 x Suitcase K-Beauty Carry On started through an Instagram ad… as all good relationships do. At the time I couldn’t justify buying it, which worked out pretty well for my friends, as they actually already had the idea of buying me it for my birthday.

I was beyond ecstatic to be gifted it. Not only because I’m a big fan of the Korean beauty industry and Suitcase magazine, but because I also love being introduced to new brands and products. Naturally the pairing of Tonic 15 – a Korean beauty & make-up store, and Suitcase – a travel & lifestyle magazine, was perfect for me.

Tonic 15 x Suitcase K-Beauty Carry On

A collection of eleven specially selected products – some cult classics and some new – this premium edit is teeming with skincare, body and haircare saviours to give you a beauty boost.

Full-size products

Travel size products

Thoughts?

There are three full-sized products included in the Tonic 15 x Suitcase K-Beauty Carry On. Whereas this is great, the selection is a bit odd. I can’t wait to try the ‘gesgep Bare Cream’ & the ‘AROMATICA Root Enhancer’ (the ‘COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence’ is already a fave of mine), but I would have liked to see a full-size cleanser in the mix. As for the travel size samples, they’re still a decent enough size that you can get an idea of what the products are like, and whether you want to purchase full-size versions later.

There a great selection of Korean beauty products here, no doubt. The kit is priced at £69 but worth over £143, and it includes a lot of the less “mainstream” Korean beauty brands, which I love to see. I’m beyond excited that I received this for my birthday, but I would have happily purchased it myself. You can buy the full kit at Tonic 15.

Don’t forget to check out more of my beauty recommendations and let me know in the comments which products you’d want to try from the Tonic 15 x Suitcase K-Beauty Carry On.

A Rather Bazaar Beauty Box | Review

Bazaar Beauty BoxBazaar Beauty Box by Latest In Beauty

Remember when beauty boxes were a thing? It’s been a while since it was popular for companies to charge us an arm and a leg for travel size samples; you were one of the lucky few if you found a rare full size product in your box. After the hype died down, I personally took to researching products and buying the full size versions. And I was happy. But then VA went and sent me a link to the latest ‘Latest in Beauty’ box. It included a collaboration with none other than Harper’s Bazaar – a brand that had won me over previously with their Birchbox collaboration. I couldn’t resist finding out more.

So what’s inside?

The limited-edition Spring/Summer beauty edit features high-end favourites from the likes of Laura Mercier, Elemis, Dermalogica, and many more.

  • Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (full size)
  • Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (full size)
  • MAC Prep + Prime Fix + (full size)
  • Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair  (full size)
  • Benefit They’re Real Mascara (full size)
  • Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream (15ml travel size)
  • Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence (50ml travel size)
  • Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask (15ml travel size)
  • Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (30ml travel size)
  • Alpha H Liquid Gold (50ml travel size)
  • Shavata Complimentary Brow-Shape (gift card)

Bazaar Beauty Box – final thoughts

This box is worth an incredible £224! But is it worth £50 (that’s the RRP) of your hard earned cash? Well quite frankly, yes it is. This box includes some amazing – and expensive – products. I already had plans to repurchase the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, and the MAC Prep + Prime Fix +. So straight off I’d saved myself £18, and that was without counting all the extra products that came in the box.

The amount of full size products is way more than most beauty boxes. And these are popular products, they’re not just cast offs from some company you’ve never heard of. I’ve already started using a few of the items, and I’m excited to try out all of the others (yes, all of them). £50 is a lot of money, but I am so glad I splurged on this.

The Beauty Expert Collection – Rose Edition

Beauty Expert CollectionThe Beauty Expert Collection – Rose Edition*

Beauty boxes have almost become a staple in the beauty game. However over time people (including myself) have become tired of the novelty of not knowing what you’re going to receive. Sometimes you just need a bit of stability in your life. You know what I mean?

So when I was gifted The Beauty Expert Collection – Rose Edition, I was excited to know just exactly what I would be receiving.

The Beauty Expert Collection – Rose Edition

  • Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil (30ml)  Restore, regenerate and intensively condition lacklustre skin with this rose-scented fruit and seed oil blend. Super potent in concentrated fruit hip oil, with twice the regenerative sterols and five times the carotenoids of seed oil, feed your skin with the most essential nutrients.
  • Monu Gentle Cleanser (180ml) – Perfect for those with dry, irritated or sensitive skin types. The fresh infusion of rose and geranium essential oils deliver a relaxing aroma, while the wheat germ, peach kernel and coconut oil provide the skin with the TLC it deserves.
  • Ark Body Beautiful Conditioning Oil (250ml) – This gorgeous multi-purpose beauty elixir can be used as a massage, bath, body and hair oil. Containing sweet almond oil, abyssian oil and sacha inchi-seed oil, this unique blend rejuvenates your senses and ensures your skin receives maximum results.
  • Balance Me Rose Otto Body Cream (200ml) – Hydrate, firm and protect skin with this luxurious body cream. Rich in skin-quenching ingredients, including arctic cloudberry and organic aloe vera, this exquisite mix is then blended with softening rose otto, palma rosa and rose geranium.
  • Korres Japanese Rose Shower Gel (250ml) – Refresh and awaken your skin with the irresistible scent of delicate rose petals. Energising wheat proteins help form a protective layer on the skin to maintain the skin’s natural moisture levels, while antioxidant enzymes enhance the overall immune system of the skin.
  • REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift (15ml) – This ultra-lifting, firming and replenishing eye cream instantly lifts and brightens the entire eye area. The powerful cocktail of ingredients helps target signs of ageing, crow’s feet and expression lines – resulting in a smoother, tighter and revitalised appearance.

Is The Beauty Expert Collection worth it?

This is always a difficult question, but it’s one that’s on anybody’s mind when it comes to buying a new product. Especially when that product is a beauty box – sorry, beauty bag. One of the main differences – and draws – of TBEC is that you know what you’re getting; 6 full size rose themed beauty products.

Personally I’m a fan of Ren, Balance Me, Korres and Monu. So seeing these brands in the bag automatically told me that I was getting something I knew I’d love. It also showed me that Beauty Expert know what they’re talking about – these are some awesome brands! The addition of a couple of companies I didn’t know of was also nice, as it means I get to try out some new products, and hopefully fall in love with some new brands.

So let’s look at this logically. The Beauty Expert Collection – Rose Edition, comes with 6 full sized products, suitable for all skin-types… oh and it offers up £134 worth of full size products for only £50! Yeah I do reckon you’re getting your moneys worth.

Review: Latest in Beauty Cult Collection Box

latest-in-beauty-get-the-gloss-cult-collection-1Get The Gloss x Latest in Beauty Cult Collection Box*

Latest in Beauty and Get the Gloss have never let me down. Their beauty boxes are some of the best out there. Not only because you know what will be inside the box before you receive it – helping you to decide if it’s for you – but because the products chosen are of such high quality. When Latest in Beauty and Get the Gloss get together, you know you’re going to receive a box crammed full of awesome products. Their Summer It Kit was a hit, so when they sent me their Cult Collection box I was brimming full of excitement.

Inside the box is…
+ Bee Good – Youthful Enhancing Lift and Brighten Eye 5ml
+ St Tropez – Gradual Tan In Shower Cream 50ml
+ Prismologie – Indigo Interlude Foot Cream & Pink O’Clock Hand & Cuticle Cream 2x10ml
+ Dr Lipp – Miracle Balm 15ml
+ NUDE Skincare – Skincare ProGenius Rescue Oil (800 ProGenius Treatment Oil) 5ml
+ Ciaté London – London Paint Pots – Mistress 13.5ml
+ Eyeko – Black Fat Liquid Eyeliner 3.5g

Thoughts?
This is where I insert a gif of me clapping. Clapping to the majesty that is the Get the Gloss x Latest in Beauty Cult Collection Box. They’ve really outdone themselves this time. This is why I still have faith in beauty boxes. I’ve already started using the Dr Lipp and Eyeko products, and of course they’re amazing – I wouldn’t expect anything less from such well-known and loved products. As for the other items in the box, well I can’t wait to use those either, and I plan to take most of them to Italy this week. These really are the perfect travel size companions. Unfortunately I won’t be using the St Tropez lotion, however I will gift it to a friend who will get more use out of it. After all, it is a great brand, and the product itself looks promising. The box itself contains over £60 worth of products, and is priced at only £15.95. This is a collection of cult goodies, and it is certainly worth the price tag.

Latest in Beauty Get The Gloss Summer It Kit

latest-in-beauty-get-the-gloss-summer-it-kit-1Latest in Beauty Get The Gloss Summer It Kit*

Everyone has their Summer travel essentials: sunglasses, notebook, city guide etc. This year I’ve been trying to simplify how I travel, and that includes my make-up and beauty favourites. Old me would have brought along half the bathroom cabinet. Convincing myself that I really do need to bring an extra 3 moisturisers. Now I’m doing better, but truth be told, I still need a little help. So when Get The Gloss offered to send me their Summer It Kit Box (a collaboration with Latest in Beauty), I was over the moon. Latest in Beauty say: “We have teamed up with the editorial team at Get the Gloss to bring you the Summer ‘It Kit’ for 2015. Bursting with 8 amazing products, from Nuxe to Nails Inc, this is one beauty kit you don’t want to be without!”

Inside the box is…
+ NAILS INC Gel Effect Nail Polish (full size)
+ NUXE Huile Prodigieuse® OR (10ml)
+ Bourjois Aqua Blush (full size)
+ Anne Semonin Eye Express Radiance Cube (full size)
+ Salon Science AquaCacteen Hydrasoothe™ Cooling Spray (full size)
+ Philip Kingsley Swimcap (50ml)
+ Elemental Herbology Cell Plumping Facial Hydrator SPF 8 (15ml)
+ Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Refine & Polish Miracle Balm (15ml)

Thoughts?
At only £19 this is slightly more than the usual beauty box. However the box features 4 full size products, and Latest in Beauty have claimed that the box values at over £85. Taking that into consideration, you’re getting one hell of a deal here. But what did I think of the products? I was really happy with most of the products. They’ve covered hair, skin, body and nails. I can definitely see myself packing most of these for a weekend away. Sure I probably won’t use NUXE Huile Prodigieuse® OR (pasty skin 4life) or the Bourjois Aqua Blush (I prefer powder blush), but that’s not to say I didn’t like them. In fact I happen to think Get the Gloss have curated this box with expert precision. They’ve chosen some great brands, and an eclectic mix of products. I think what I like the most about this box is that it hasn’t taken the easy route. My only niggle: how can you have a Summer box without sunscreen?

Review: Boots Beauty Box

boots-beauty-box-review-bloomzyboots-beauty-box-review-botanics-micellar-water-hydrating-eye-cream-2 boots-beauty-box-review-essentials-cleansing-wipesboots-beauty-box-review-rapid-action-spot-gelBoots Beauty Box*

It’s no secret, I’m a Boots fangirl. If I’m in need of any beauty products (skincare, cosmetics, you name it), Boots is always my first stop. I also love a good beauty box. So when Boots put together a special one just for me, I couldn’t contain myself. The unique concept behind the Boots Beauty Box is that it contains a full facial skincare beauty regime, made up entirely of their own brand products.

Inside the box is…
+ Boots Botanics Micellar 3-in-1 Cleansing Solution (£1.49)
+ Boots Botanics Hydrating Eye Cream Radiant Youth (£4.49)
+ Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser SPF15 (£1.74)
+ Boots Essentials 3-minute Clay Mask (£1.50)
Boots Essentials Cleansing Wipes Moisturising for Dry Skin (£1.50)
Boots Skin Clear Ultra Rapid Action Spot Gel (£3.99)
Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Scrub (£3.21)

Thoughts?
The whole point of this box is to show just how extensive the Boots beauty range is. And boy did it do a pretty good job at covering all the bases. I use a wide range of products (cleanser, toner, moisturiser, masks etc) in my own skincare regime, so I was pleased to see most of them here. I also learnt that most of Boots own products are developed by skincare specialists right here in the UK – not bad at all. So would I purchase these products myself? With the exception of the cleansing wipes (I just don’t use wipes), I would certainly purchase these. At £17.92 for all 7 products, you’re getting a whole facial skincare regime for the price of one mid-range product. These items are easy on the skin, and the pocket.

REVIEW: NAILBOX – A NAIL POLISH SUBSCRIPTION BOX (MAY 2015)

nailbox-may-2015-review-opi-orly-rimmel-essie-nail-polish-bloomzy-2 nailbox-may-2015-review-opi-orly-rimmel-essie-nail-polish-bloomzy-1 nailbox May 2015 Box*

Yes, nailbox is back with their May 2015 box. Unfortunately this box has sold out already, but I decided to review it anyway, so you can get an idea of what the June box may be like. You can also view my review of the first nailbox here. This box contains a nail tool and four full-size nail polishes from well-known industry brands: OPI, ORLY, Essie and Rimmel.

Inside the box is…
+ Elegant Touch Cuticle Pusher & Nail Cleaner (around £10)
+ ORLY Fiery Orange Color Blast nail polish (£9.50)
+ Rimmel Lucky Lilac nail polish (around £2.99)
+ Nicole by OPI Modern Family Alex by the Books nail polish (around £7.99)
+ Essie Status Symbol nail polish (£7.99)

Thoughts?
The packaging of the box was the same as before (a brown cardboard box), and the polishes were packaged safely inside. The total value of the May box comes to £34.47, so again you are getting more than your £15 worth. However I noticed that a few of the nail polishes included are from past collections, but unlike the last box I couldn’t find some of them online or in-store. Now whether you take this as a pro or con is up to you.

Would I purchase this? Not this particular box. The shades aren’t to my taste at all, but that’s not the fault of nailbox. I would have also liked to have seen a top coat of some kind. It seems odd to start a nail polish subscription box without one of the basic nail polish needs. However nailbox have hinted that a Seche Vite top coat will be in the next box. If that’s the case then I would definitely consider purchasing the next one.

You can sign up for the June 2015 box at nailbox.
