Review: Nourish Golden Glow Toning Soufflé

Nourish Golden Glow Toning Soufflé*

Nourish are a skincare company who targets their products at your skin’s needs and health.
This Christmas they are doing just that and bringing you their golden glow toning soufflé with frankincense & myrrh.
The light reflecting particles in this cream are said to:
“Even skin tone, giving a smooth lustrous appearance and a naturally healthy sun-kissed glow. Golden resins of frankincense and myrrh, combined with a nutrient rich phyto-active marine extract, tone the skin, firming and boosting suppleness. With super-hydrating hyaluronic acid and tripeptides to stimulate the production of collagen, skin feels smoother, softer and has a refined, fresh appearance.”

Definitely not an easy product to capture on camera

Pros:
+ Absorbs into the skin quickly
+ Leaves a subtle sparkly sheen
+ My skin felt soft and smooth after application
Cons:
– Slightly odd scent
Notes:
First off I have to say how much I love the consistency of this product.
It wobbles like jelly and reminded me of custard – I like both those things so I liked this.
The ‘soufflé’ absorbed into my skin very quickly, and I was really impressed – waiting around for creams to dry is a pet hate of mine. This dried within a couple of minutes so it definitely gets bonus points from me!
As for the ‘odd scent’ I mentioned. It’s not terrible but it just didn’t seem to match the decadence of the product.
Some of you may think this review is a little late for Christmas, but I believe in sparkling all year round.
If you really need an excuse though, this cream would be perfect for any New Year celebrations!

OOTD: Lovely Lace

(Dress: Pussycat London*, Shoes: H&M, Belt: Primark)

I love to dress up around Christmas time, and I usually end up buying a couple of new dresses just to do it.
So when new brand Pussycat London offered to send me one of their pieces I had to choose a dress just for that.
If you’re a long time reader of my blog, then you will know by now that I love items that can be dressed-up or down.
That’s why it was pretty much love at first sight when I saw this lace dress on their website.
It may just look like any other dress in the images on their site, but I knew I could get to work on it.
I added a thin red belt to compliment the navy and also a subtle yet noticeable silver necklace.
The leaf necklace itself says Christmas to me, but with the navy and red I think it really feels seasonal.
Simple patent heels give it that little bit of extra class, making it a bit more dress-y, at least I think so.
This is definitely a contender for my Christmas day dress!
How do you think I could style it to make it even more Christmas-y?

OOTD: Black Baroque

(Sweater: Glamorous*, Skirt: Topshop, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Belt: Primark)

I’m back, with a fabulous new baroque look!
Well not exactly, but this baroque style jumper by Glamorous is pretty fabulous (rhyme not intended).
Luckily I have free reign over what I wear to work, and this jumper and skirt combo just seemed perfect.
Smart casual is totally my thing and the gold glitter detail adds a little bit of pizazz for the Christmas season.
The jumper itself was pretty warm and soft, not itchy as I’d feared after seeing the glitter threading.
I did however pop a long sleeve top underneath as I feel the cold a bit too much, but it didn’t obstruct the silhouette.
The jersey skirt I bought from Topshop a couple of months ago has been such an investment.
It really does suit so many looks and I’m able to layer it with jumpers, dresses and tops etc.
I finished off my baroque look with my gold panther heel detail shoes from Urban Outfitters.
Unfortunately they don’t sell the black any more but they do now have black-glitter & burgundy versions.
I’ve missed doing OOTD posts, so I’m going to do a couple in a row this week!

Photo Diary: Life in London

Recent snaps from my Instagram – @bloomzy

I have now been living in London for just over a month.
It’s been wonderful and I’m sorry I haven’t been able to share more with you.
I’ve missed doing lifestyle posts and a few of you mentioned you missed them too, so here’s two in a row!
The reason why I have been so busy is because I found a job a few weeks ago so I’ve been working.
Apart from work, I’ve also been indulging in some tasty food, as yesterday’s post proves.
My BFF Jemi visited and we had a bit of retail therapy as well as a good catch-up – miss you already!
I’ve also been indulging in tasty clothes too, such as a new pair of wedge sneakers and the Tatty Devine Frida Kahlo necklace that I had been lusting after for several months. Luckily my job allows me to wear all the fancy clothes I like!
I don’t have as much free time as I would like now, but I still enjoy my job and the free time I get.
How do you relax and make the most of your free time?

I’m a pretty big foodie, if you hadn’t already guessed, so I wanted to post a bit about food in London.
There are some amazing places to eat and pick up food, and these are just a few of the places I have visited lately.
This is my version of a Where to Eat in London – I have included the name, type of restaurant/cafe/store, the location of the place I visited, and a link to their website, as the bigger places have more than one location.

This is an ongoing series (you can find the series here) as my love for food and discovering new bars, restaurants etc. continues to blossom. This time all of the restaurants, apart from Byron (I’ve now been to two of their locations – both wonderful) are all one offs – meaning they can’t be found in multiple locations in London. If you’re curious about what I ate feel free to ask but I didn’t write it as I think it’s self explanatory from most of the photos.

I wouldn’t have included these places if I didn’t love and recommend them.
So if you have the chance you should definitely check them out!

New Season: elf Cosmetics

A selection of new products from e.l.f cosmetics*
A couple of weeks ago the lovely people from e.l.f sent me some of their new products to try. I was so excited when I opened the package and found a very Christmas-y gift bag loaded with items. It feels as though e.l.f know me personally and the items that would be perfectly matched to me.
e.l.f are an American cosmetic company who launched in the UK back in 2007. They are an affordable alternative to high street retailers, with items starting for as little as £1.50. Unfortunately they are on only available online in the UK but you can easily purchase items through their site.
What did they send me?
– Mysterious Nail Polish Set –
The nail polish set isn’t up on the site yet, but hopefully it will be added soon as the colours are amazing! As for the rest of the items, well I can’t wait to try them out, especially the blush brush and marble eyeshadows. I also got quite excited when I saw the mascara shield as I’m always trying so hard not to smudge my mascara. This is only a sneak peek but I plan to do reviews of some of the products after I’ve tried them out. I’ve never tried the brand myself so I’m excited to give them a go with these products!

A Christmas Wish List

Christmas Wishlist

Long sleeve velvet dress, $62 / Velvet skirt / Topshop , $48 / Studded ballet flat, $35 / MICHAEL Michael Kors leather tote bag, $270 /
Christmas is coming, and you know what that means.
Yep, it’s time for another ‘Christmas Wishlist’ post, sorry guys.
I wasn’t actually thinking of doing one this year but then a friend and the fiancé specifically asked for one, so…I guess you could say that I’m leaning more towards accessories and clothing right now.
There’s the odd bit of homeware thrown in but what surprised me most was the lack of beauty products.
Honestly I couldn’t think of anything beauty related that I REALLY wanted, so I just didn’t bother with it.
Right now I’m just after lots of velvet clothing (and shoes!) and some amazing accents to go with.

The usual offenders are there: Topshop, Marc Jacobs, Regal Rose and Tatty Devine.
I know the MK bag is a bit of a long shot, but hey this is a wish list, and a girl’s allowed to dream.
