OOTD: Mode Foremost

Dress: Juriano Jurrie | Shorts: H&M | Wedges: Internacionale | Earrings: Topshop

Oh my gosh, she’s wearing white!!
Yes, I have outdone myself by using white in this outfit, although I did have to add some black. I’m not a fan of white dresses actually. I think they look nice, but I’m always scared of getting them dirty. Amazingly, I managed to overcome that fear today so I could wear this. It’s one of my favourite items. The shape is very flattering and I always feel comfortable and stylish in it, even though it’s a pretty simple piece. Of course that also means that it’s always in season – lucky me!
I wasn’t sure whether to post a full body pic today, as my cheeks are a little swollen & puffy. Yesterday I had an horrendous tooth ache all day, even after visiting the emergency dentist. He managed to fix things temporarily, but the anaesthetic & medicine wore off straight away (a problem I’ve had since I was little) so I was in pain for most of the day. Hence the lack of posts. It’s feeling a bit better today, let’s hope it lasts!

Wish List: H&M Fashion Against Aids Collection

H&M Fashion Against Aids Collection

This year H&M’s Fashion Against Aids Collection is back with a bang!
This time round inspiration comes from several continents (South America being the most prominent) and the tribal print trend, with some fringe and dip-dying thrown in just for fun. According to H&M “special prints were commissioned from international artists and illustrators for this collection to create pieces bursting with colour, pattern and authenticity.”

Once I saw the collection I automatically started putting together a wishlist.
I think my favourites have to be the fringe top & kimono jacket (pictured above).
I also love that 25% of all sales from the collection will go towards a variety of international youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. More big name brands should also jump on the bandwagon!

The collection is released on the 26th April.
Check out more images of the items that will be available,
and the charities that will be helped with your money – here.

OOTD: Black & Gold

Top & Skirt: Bought in Japan | Shoes: ASOS

I used to wear this skirt quite often when I was in Japan, but I’d forgotten about it. So I decided to base this outfit around it, because I love the look of ‘Black & Gold’. It’s actually pretty simple but I think all the elements, even down to my earrings, tied in pretty well.

This was actually yesterday’s outfit, but I didn’t have the time to post it.
I think you can all forgive me though, right?

Wish List: Wandering Minds

Wandering Minds is a new webstore set up by a group of friends.
The items in the store have been hand-picked by the girls themselves, who have flown to
some amazing fashion capitals, such as Seoul, Tokyo, and Paris.
In fact, they travel all year long, finding new emerging designers.
I think you can tell why this store called out to me.
Fashion + Travel = ♥

The items from their new ‘Seoul Collection‘ feature some wonderful basics that would suit most styles.
As you probably guessed, these items are from Korean designers. The girls chose these as they loved the simple, but effortlessly fashionable looks they saw on the streets of Seoul. I personally, want their job!!
To me, the looks are reminiscent of American Apparel, Topshop and some of the stores on Gmarket.
I definitely want to add all of the above items to my wardrobe!
You can shop the collections here.

OOTD: Pastels from Paris

Collared Top: H&M | Trousers: Bought in Paris | Shoes: ASOS

The sun is finally here!! That means no more coats, and I can finally bring these beauties out again.
By ‘beauties’ I mean the purple, blue & white trousers I’m sporting in the above photo I bought them in Paris when it was incredibly hot last Summer and they were my saviour. They’re so light and airy, it feels like I’m wearing silk. They have a very casual, slouchy fit and I love them for warm days when the sun is shining. I also bought the top when I was in Paris, so whether I look it or not I felt rather Parisian today.
I still have yet to find the perfect pair of shoes to go with the trousers though. I despise flip-flops, and they hate me equally, so those aren’t an option for warmer weather. To be honest I also need more light coloured items in my wardrobe. I feel they would coordinate better.
After I finish and hand in my dissertation next month, the real shopping shall begin!

Buy: ASOS LULA Colour Blocked Pump

Recently I realised that the only flat shoes I had in my possession were my Asos Velvet Flatforms & a pair of brogues.
Of course I was happy looking at all my gorgeous shoes, but I did wonder if maybe I really did need a pair of proper flats.
So I spent the next few weeks searching high and low in my favourite stores. Unfortunately most of the stores just had the same generic ‘ballet flats’ which don’t appeal to my sense of style. I did find a lovely pair from Miss Selfridge, but unfortunately I needed a half size, which they don’t do.
So I finally turned to my trusty ASOS! The only reason I hadn’t gone there in the first place was because I wanted to try the shoes on in person. As I mentioned before I’m usually a half size, but my shoe size also varies between 3-5 depending on the store, so it can be difficult.
The little heel poking out means that they look slightly more ‘grown up’ than regular flats and I choose the black as they would go with most things (this is always my problem!).
I was so happy and relieved when they arrived as the size 4 fit perfectly and the shoes are great quality.
Another thing I have found about a lot of flats is that the quality isn’t so great and the soles tend to wear quickly.
I took advantage of the 25% student discount ASOS were offering alongside free next-day delivery.
I would suggest people sign up to UNiDAYS (if you’re a student) and the ASOS newsletter, just so you know when the latest offers are taking place, as they usually only last a few days.
You can buy the LULA Colour Blocked Pumps, in various colours, here.

Wish List: Topshop & Regal Rose

Topshop 2

Regal Rose
Regal Rose by bloomzy featuring green jewelry

Just a couple of Wishlists, this time from specific stores; Topshop & Regal Rose
I think the Topshop wishlist proves that I do like colours other than black, I just need to take the plunge and actually add them to my wardrobe. Maybe this Summer will be different!
I definitely can’t live without the bralets & studded sweater. I think I’ll have to make a trip to Manchester next month to check out the Topshop there as the one here didn’t have any of them.

The Regal Rose pieces are items I’ve been lusting after for a while.
I love their store, and I know I would get good wear out of their jewellery.
I haven’t ordered from them before, and their prices aren’t bad, I just worry about quality.
That said I’ve only heard good things about them, so maybe I should just go for it.

If you have Polyvore, you can find me here.
